This place is only beautiful and awesome if you can appreciate the engineering, the massive amount of water this dam holds and if you drive a car with some clearance the 2 hours driving along its side roads. The access fom one side to the other above the dam is not closed, but still there is a small bridge in the road past the dam. Build in 1967 the Susqueda dam is 135 metres high Beautiful area! Shame you no longer can walk across the dam wall, that used to be a stunning view! For the best views, drive up the right hand side first. Great place to left everything behind and think about meaning of life. Huge reservoir, sadly half full with water due to the drought. If you're lucky you will see a beautiful rainbow, since the water is vaporising. The area itself looks beautiful and is full of trees and other plants. There are also a lot of colibries to be seen. The only downsides are that the roads to the reservoir are quite small (one car wide) and might be full of rocks.
