Really beautiful medieval castle north of Barcelona. The building was started in the 13th century, extended on the 17th and finally renovated on the 19th. The whole building is fascinating and the guided tour (one every hour, from 10 am to 2pm) is really worth it if you understand Catalan. Our guide was excellent. On top of that, Castell de Montesquiu is surrounded by beautiful nature and has lots of cool hiking paths and spots perfect for a picnic. Plus, it's rarely packed with tourists, so you'll get to enjoy it without the crowds. Paraje y castillo súper súper tranquilo. Bástante bien corsérvado. Sus alrededores son muy bonitos y paisajisticos. Para pasear y hacer rutas es muy recomendable. Parking gratis. Lavabos gratis. Ok. Bien conservado con mobiliario del siglo XX y recuerdos de la última familia propietaria. La visita al castell és amb guia, i val la pena. La visita està ben estructurada per entendre els diferents períodes d'aquest monument i posar-los en el context històric general de Catalunya, des de l'època medieval fins a principis del s. XX quan el castell es transforma en residència d'estiueig. El personal amable, i la guia que vam tenir, un 10! Els entorns del castell estan ben cuidats. Well preserved medevial castle and park (a little 💎 to be discovered!) , with great views of the surroundings. The guided tour is worth the price (4€), and the guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable, although most of the narration was focused on the last century. I would have liked to see more of the building, as the visit currently includes only few areas on the ground and first floors. Recommended!
