A fun rope bridge. Wobbles somewhat as you walk over but is safe, rope gapes very small and the ravine is not very deep. Good one to test your kids and dogs on (and nervous adults) before doing a more serious one. I found this location on Google maps while searching for suspension bridges, not realizing it’s part of a 5km hiking with multiple attractions throughout. I came on a warm July weekday afternoon with my mother in law and three kids ages 5,3, and 1. We parked near the Heligkreuz waldgästatte and entered the system there via the stairs and that was NOT at all stroller friendly, but once on the it was a wide, clear that would have accommodated a stroller without problem, at least until the (we only went that far and didn’t complete the whole trail). It was about a 30 minute walk to the bridge, but we spent a good amount of time at the marble run on the way. My kids LOVED the bridge. There is some seating right in front of it on both sides and it felt quite safe and sturdy. No large gaps I was worried about them falling through. There isn’t much else there (meaning it isn’t like Geierlay, with musicians and and ice cream stand and massive crowds at the entrance). Bring your own snacks and water. We spent about 30 minutes at the before heading back to the car. I definitely plan to go back at some point to do the whole path! A great getaway. Walking through and offbeat to reach a beautiful suspension bridge. Most of the time, it's empty. One can hike around 4 km from Bingen or take a bus number 230 and walk 2.5 km. The is in good condition and well maintained. You can also drive up to the parking area in Heilig Kreuz and climb the steps to the bridge. Along the offbeat path, you come across a few houses and bird watch posts. Carry an insect repellent. On the way back from the bridge, you can take the road to Bingen that leads directly to the main station. It was a 1 hour from the train station. Surprisingly there wasnt much people as expected. We only saw 3 tourist there. This place is beautiful and deserve much more tourist I think. Our one hour was worth climbing. Happy with the view. Started my trek from Bingen Bahnhof into the Binger Wald a really peaceful walk through beautiful paths. The had a nice mix of uphill stretches and scenic spots like a hanging bridge. Great way to enjoy nature and clear your head The is unfortunately closed (at least on 23rd June, 2023). However, the area around the is pretty chilly. There are facilities, with which people can entertain themselfs. For example there are natural exhibits with annotations and it's possible to learn something new by them. Also there are a lot of benches arount the bridge, so it's not a problem to sit and relax there. Such a breathtaking experience at the Hängebrücke in Binger Wald! 🌿 The views from the suspension are absolutely stunning and the surroundings make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The walk to the is peaceful, and once you’re there, the scenery is totally worth it! 💚 Highly recommended for anyone who loves hiking, nature, and beautiful photo spots 📸🍁🍂 Really cool experience. The can really be shaken to have fun on! The surrounding is nice in itself and can lead to amazing Rhein views.
