Echt cool Epic grotto. Well worth the from the Refugio. A helmet is a good idea but no gear necessary — even your phone's flashlight will be enough light. Really nice cave, quite long (300-400m), easy to access and walk down inside. I recommend to have a lamp with you if you want to visit it, and watch out for your head if you progress far inside! Amazing lava flow tunnel complex formed in the 1971 eruption. I've visited some of the other caves and this one was by far the most impressive from my inexperienced geologist eye. You can really perceive the torrent of lava that has flown through this tunnel. The right side towards the entrance seems collapsed but I could not thoroughly investigate due to lack of equipment. The left side is still easily walkable for about 25 meters. The way to the is well signaled (number 723 on the last road turn before Rifugio Citteli) and easy to do even with adverse weather conditions. Really cool from what I could see I didn't have flashlight so I couldn't see much of the but the to the place is really beautiful free place recommend to be there before night Sehr schöne Grotte! Mit Eis und Lava! Ich habe einen kleinen Grottenolm gesehen. Amazing lava cave. You can park the car at Rifugio Citelli and then to this lava cave. Walk back on the road an you'll find a sign on the left side of the road, at the sign take the right path of the fork, it should be marked in red. It's around 1h30 going to the and back. You can also further to have some more views. You can go in the but mind your head. Tips: bring water, snacks, sun protection and wear decent shoes. Challenging but well worth it to see the Beautiful and impressive Lava Cave. Great every time This is the correct GPS point Bellissima esperienza, bisogna lasciare l'auto al rifugio citelli tornare indietro sulla strada alla prima curva girare a sinistra e seguire il sentiero in salita. Ci sono tanti segni di vernice nella roccia lavica come riferimenti ci vogliono un 45 minuti prima di arrivare facendo tutto con molta calma arrivati li però si viene ripagati da ogni fatica. Wonderful Pleasant with beautiful views and a rewarding with magical lights inside. Very cool place! 100% recommended!
