Really interesting about the history of the city during German occupation of WW2. It is well organised and you need around 2 hours to tour yourself around. The only drawback is the lack of English text scripts in the exhibitions. You can take a Notebook from the ticket office with all the info in English but you have to carry it with you and read it in front of every display. Thankfully the videos have English option. Very well thought out museum. Tells a complicated story with great honesty and a lot of nuance. You are well received and given an introduction to the in either English or danish by knowledgeable people. You can get an English guidebook, which can help but is not absolutely necessary if you read a bit of danish. The id-card accessory you get functions as a nice red line to guide you through the museum. Having been to other WW2 museums across Europe I didn’t realise that Denmark was occupied. The was very insightful the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The interactive parts to the were very well done. Really interesting history of the Nazi occupation of Denmark, with a focus on Aarhus. The exhibit panels are in Danish only. A printed guide in English is available. We checked out the Occupation on our day trip to Aarhus today. Well a sobering experience, I would highly recommend. For English speakers they have audio options on the videos (subtitles) so you could still understand the videos. For the plaques on the wall, there was no English translation on the wall itself but they had guidebooks available where all the information has been translated. My favourite part is that you got an identity card from someone who lived in Aarhus during the occupation. There were 6 different stations where you could learn more about what happened to your individual during the war. It was a great experience it really cool to know what happened with a real person. Really well curated, small where I learned a lot about the German occupation in Denmark and especially Aarhus. Nice and very friendly and helpful staff and lots of information both in German and English Staff were absolutely amazing, gave an introduction on entry. Fabulous museum, very extensive and interesting/ educational to learn through personal stories. Highly recommend Really fantastic petit museum. So much information packed into such little space. Really friendly staff who went the extra mile to help, even when there were grandparents & parents who couldn’t understand Danish. Some fantastic artefacts and displays too.
