We followed the recommendations that we found in the reviews here - we started from Pelei and followed the dirt road. We had a normal car and it was a bit difficult but still ok, as long as we drove very slowly. We stopped about 800m before the because the was getting too annoying, but it might have been possible to drive all the way there. Walking would've been possible as well, it's approx. 6,5km from Pelei and it's not very steep. There's not shade on the road, though. As for the monastery: the door was open so we took a look at the rooms and the little church (not sure what a church inside a is called😅). Also not sure if it's abandoned or not since there were things there and some doors were closed. I suppose someone comes in occasionally? But we didn't see anyone there.
