Very Location for hiking, extended walks, also with kids. Great location for in winter, without the need for snowshoes. Restaurants available at the start/end as well. Can do half day with the circuit easily, full day not necessary. Cold foggy morning we took the bus from train station (can walk there!) which dropped us off at the rail car. The ride up was amazing going through the tick fog to reveal a warm sunny winters day. There are a few options so take your time and see what’s the best option. We did a short loop so we could see the Rigi before descending down to Zug. Walk down took 2 hours but we stopped a lot to take photos. The walk was well sign posted and obvious on the direction to take. Can be slippery under foot so of course recommend good footwear. Side note. Walk through the old part of Zug for a bonus. It's a place to go out for a hike, it has some beautiful views. There is a playground and a trail for children. I recommend taking the funicular to go up to the mountain and to walk on the way down. We found 2 restaurants there, although prices are expensive, the food was good. A very top attractive place for walking , grilling , making picnic with a very view . A very beautiful place to go for a long walk in nature and many possibilities for hiking, amazing views everywhere, and so many places to sit down and enjoy your lunch.
