Ashlyn's Softplay and Farm Park

Chelmsford, United Kingdom Children's amusement center

Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. The park admission is £3 each person - great value as there is a reasonable collection of animals, the most exotic was the zebra and some lovely little white top monkeys. A field of llama, alpaca, goats as well. The has a large multi function slide and climbing structure whilst the dome bouncing installation is unique. Plenty of free parking too. It is tricky getting to photograph many of the behind fences so some editing is required. We went during half term, where there was a deal on the entrance price. The is ok. There is an amount of to see. You would mostly go for the soft play, which is at extra cost. The food was expensive and like most there are picnic areas where you can NOT bring your own picnic. With the cost of the food a d if we had paid full price. With its limited size. For your monies worth, there are other bigger farms and zoos within the same that offer better value for money. Suffice to say, It's highly unlikely that I will be bringing my family back. I’m not sure what kind of expectations the negative reviewers had, but we had a fantastic time! It’s an ideal spot for toddlers. The is a great size—large enough to explore without feeling overwhelming—and we saw a nice variety of interesting animals, all of which looked healthy, happy, and well cared for. The areas were spacious, plentiful, and perfect for young children. We visited on a Sunday during half term and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t overly crowded. We didn’t make it into the soft area, but honestly, with so much to enjoy outdoors, we didn’t feel the need. A wonderful day out overall! Anyone writing a poor review of this place, is getting it all wrong. This place charges a low fee (cheaper if booked online) because they know themselves what they charge is right for what you’re going to get. If you’re expecting a lavish experience, please book the ones that charge £20 per person. Usual animals, goats, llamas/alpacas, donkeys, saw two zebras and wallabies, few monkeys, parrots and a few others I can’t remember their name but were okay. Good outdoor playground area, can imagine it gets busy in the summer. Fairly clean. Cafe was good, variety was fine. Soft play, think the company gets a lot of negative reviews over it - like lower your expectations, it’s a small with a small soft but it can keep a toddler entertained for an hour (don’t go during peak times if you wna avoid the crowds). And the staff were and are very friendly! I’m giving it a 5 star for the price and for what you get! Such a lovely place and affordable which makes it even better!! The kids absolutely loved it. Will 100% return and recommend to anyone as it is genuinely affordable! What a great place!! Had a fabulous visit today with my Father (66yrs) and my son (almost 3). We booked onto the 11am - 1pm Soft session. The staff on duty were friendly and helpful and the food in the cafe was delicious and reasonably priced. The Soft was well maintained and my boy had so much fun. The Animal Park houses the usual farmyard favourites (sheep, goats, donkeys and turkeys) as well as some more exotic creatures (dwarf caimans, coatis, wallabies and zebras). The looked well looked after and were a joy to meet. There are a number of outside spaces, as well as some large bounce pillows (like bouncy castles in the ground) and sand area. On warmers days a splash pad is also open. We spent 4hrs there in total and are planning to visit again during the warmer months. Great afternoon out with a not quite 2 year old. Lots more than expected and some that we had never seen before. Well laid out with playgrounds and other activities in between the exhibitions too. Not what I expected it to be. Went on a Sunday afternoon and Soft was very overcrowded, full of adults with no space to sit in the cafe or soft with my baby. Playground and soft were both very dirty, with flies covering the outdoor slides, does not look like they maintain the cleaning. Staff were not helpful at all when approached. Was looking forward to seeing a few however it seemed very empty as they were missing some and had a sign saying due to refurbishment although this was not shown on the website. Would definitely not visit again.
