A rural airfield offering flihgt school opportunitys to pikots of all abilitys. It can accomodate most light aircrafts. if you like small airplanes this place is for you. come with family spend couple of hours at the cafe' onsite and watch the flights ... best to come on a sunny day... brilliant. Came for the flying along side a Spitfire. Absolutely loved it!! And I'm not into aviation or WW2. However, am I appreciative of the plane and its place in history and the fact that the designer of the Spitfire was born in my hometown. ( See my other review of Hanley museum) I flew in the helicopter and 15 minutes was about right. You wear headphones and hear the pilot of the helicopter talk through them. He was very friendly and informative. He gave everyone an opportunity to get a good view of the Spitfire and to take photos. The way it's glides through the air was amazing. The backdrop was the English countryside and in the far distance is London. The was totally safe and I would highly recommend it for anyone. Afterwards we stayed for lunch which was very enjoyable. Only downside was that it took a while for the dishes to arrive. I think they were understaffed. However, we weren't bored as there were other plane activities going on. All the staff were super friendly. Place was really very clean. A great day out to watch the aircrafts even if you don't do an experience. Good to see they have put the air field to some use. Nice day time car meet good seeing some old faces and new ones too. Hopefully next one hosted is bigger and maybe they can allow some skydiving with landing close to the airport. There is a market here a Saturday starts at 8am plenty of free parking but get there early as there can be a long queue of traffic. There are toilets on site as well . If you are lucky you can spot war planes taking off as well. I had my first flying in a two-seater plane at North Weald Airfield, and it was absolutely amazing! It was my first time (with 2 seater) in the sky, and the pilot—who is a highly experienced BA commercial pilot—made me feel very safe and confident from the start. Once we were in the air, the pilot even let me take control for a couple of minutes, which was such a thrilling experience. It was great fun and truly unforgettable. The entire team was friendly, welcoming, and very professional. They offer two-seater and four-seater planes, and you can even book lessons if you’re interested in learning to fly. If you’re looking for a unique and exciting experience, I highly recommend it. Thank you to the team for an incredible day! Covers a very large area with an active airfield and associated businesses and a long and interesting aviation history and artefacts including WW2 activities. Has a cafe with outdoor seating with good views of aircraft activity. Aviation training school as well. Also has a large and popular outdoor market at various times. See website for activities and times. Well worth a visit for all the family, allow a couple of hours at least. The staff always are incredible help guiding you to the right places especially when I have a 4 year old daughter and just picking up meat great help and very well organised been going to north Weald market since I was 10 I’m 37 know thank you through the good times and challenging times through Covid periods keep north Weald market going Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
