A lovely place for a with some walking tracks and great views. The enclosure is nice to see (take some carrots if you want to feed them). There's a visitor centre with some typical gift shop merchandise and cafe. Really nice to visit, quite unexpected being so close to urban areas. Lots of free car spaces when I visited too. Great country park! Plenty of free parking, nice play area for the kids and huge to around with lots of deer. Nice little cafe/gift shop where you can have a coffee and enjoy the views of the park. this beautiful sanctuary. Loved walking . Pet friendly. Handicap accessible Free parking. Love the animals a fun afternoon for the family. Beautiful Wild to say about this place! Lovely place to visit with family and friends! Great park. Probably the best in the area to be honest. Long walks, great views and a real sense of being away from it all... even though it’s only 5 minutes away from the outskirts of Romford. Oh, plus the compound and the secret walled garden. Just to add to the allure!!! Update... they now have some new play equipment near the main car park. Fantastic! There is a decent size car near the children's play area. Lovely little that has two entrances, one for people with dogs. Dog friendly so you can get out of the bad weather and warm up after your walk. There is a red enclosure and the come right up to the fence. There's a wild flower area, a lake and it is a nature reserve. It will probably be very popular if it snows as there are some great slopes for tabboganing. Family friendly, definitely worth a visit Spent an afternoon here and I can say this place is amazing ,only had to drive like 20 minutes from where I live but it was totally worth it. The staff in the also amazing , always smiling and kind . One of my favourite places so far and can't wait to go again. We arrived about midday for our first visit to this Essex Wildlife Trust site. The car was fairly full but we found a space easily. There is a small from the carpark to the cafe, passing the Red enclosure, a number of were close to the fence, being fed by families. The weather was still a bit chilly but the sun was out. We started at the café that serves hot food, teas and cakes. After a coffee to warm us up we wandered down hill to the cow pond where there was a verity of geese and ducks and a couple of bench seats. We then walked back up the rear side of the enclosure back to the car. In all we spent a good couple of hours here but will return later in the year. Great for a quiet walk. Beautiful red and a lovely with a range of teas and coffees, cakes and ice creams. Sit outside to catch the sun. Lovely open grounds. Perfect for dog walks and families. Red sanctuary, feel free to bring carrots and apples. Tea and cake shop with beautiful vista. Free parking. Lovely centre. I have brought my grown-up children here since they were babies. Now EWT have decided to ban dogs for 'health and safety' reasons. They have alienated a vast number of their loyal customers. Why? I have noticed a lot of the elderly customers, especially, have just disappeared. ☹️ Fenomenal place to visit with a whole family! The whole feeding experience is fantastic! Everyone loved it and everyone was extremely happy! We had so much fun, and the around the lake was also great! Such a beautiful place! We will definitely be back again!
