Little 40km to Karlsruhe, and more closer to Baden Baden... It's more for low cost company... You can come there by bus, train or car... Because its little there is no much places to eat and drink like at big airports... There is also little duty free shop inside... control is sometimes very very long especially when it's summer season and I recommend to people to come minimum 2,5-3 hours before to not miss the flight... People who work there is so kind and helpful but i think they need more worker at summer... Price is correct like at other airports... Also they need more charger for phones... All recommendations for visit and take some flights to and from there OMG and this is in the middle of Europe! There were like so so much of travelers at the check. Obviously the staff is not prepared to manage them! I was waiting for 50 minutes for the check tried to ask help from 2 staff members saying I was scared to miss my flight. The answer from a grey haired lady was: “Bitte schön!” She did not even make the effort to answer me in English. Not like the others did much more. They let us outside to wait in the windy cold weather for like half an hour. Unhelpful, degrading experience. Will try to avoid. Typical small airport. Uneducated and rude staff, body search in front of public, going into pants, exposing body parts all in public. Found nothing - "you can go". Apology? No. And after tens of flights with basic bike accessories, only here they don't have a clue what bike parts are. so "no, it's not allowed" and 50 euros basic bike tools gone. To garbage. Disgustingly, although it's near I definitely do not recommend. Shameless. Small with no wifi, no water fountain and no direct connection to Karlsruhe. My to London was delayed by hours and I couldn't even charge my phone because there was no available electric outlet. Surprisingly, not the worst place to spend a night before your flight: there are a lot of chairs without armrests, so you can actually sleep! But the is no food during the night: Costa coffee, shop, and a corner with sandwiches are closed. There are some vending machines, but they take only coins! When the opened (3 hours before the first flight) and we went through it and the boarder, there was a working sandwich corner and a small duty-free shop. It's a very small airport. Everything was super quick, and a liked a guy at the check, very nice and polite. Was it something luxurious or amazing? No But was it smooth and predictable? Yes I arrived around 1 hr 20 mins before my and that was completely adequate. The staff was professional and kind. Yes the way from terminal to the is 400 m walk in open. But that's nothing so bad on my opinion. The is small, and everything looks quite reasonable - just what you would expect. But don’t let that fool you. It will make you question whether you’re really in a European Airport. The ticket machine for the bus? Out of order. The bus drivers? Cash only. The only ATM at the airport? Yep - also out of order. The lady at the information desk? She found all of this completely normal and simply suggested taking a taxi to the city center. (Thanks for the shitty service displayed.) I ended up learning about an alternative—the DB app—from a kind soul who just happened to be trying to catch the bus too. All in all, bring cash and a lot of patience. Absolutely disgraceful experience at in this so called international airport. The staff were rude, dismissive and clearly irritated by the presence of foreigners. Speaking even basic English? Apparently too much to ask. Their attitude was cold, unfriendly, and clearly unwelcoming. If you’re supposed to be a European country, then maybe the employees should try acting a bit more educated and professional. No wonder people prefer to fly anywhere else. Embarrassing.
