Remember Museum 39-45

Aachen, Belgium War museum

One of the Best Places To Visits in Thimister Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. It’s a personal about the soldiers and not about generals or strategy. The pictures don’t do it justice. Wonderful and quite unique with beautiful surroundings. This was one of my best experiences I've had - and I have been to quite a few places now. If you want to learn about the war from first hand eye witnesses, who literally have about every single little item in the museum, then this is the place to visit. The owner/founders and their associates are all lovely people who will show you a truly amazing tour of their collection for an almost illegally low price. Be prepared to put aside two to three hours for the guided tour as you don't want to miss all the small anecdotes. Do be aware that guided tours are, from my understanding, mandatory, which I also think it should be, as it brings the collection together. So book in advance, they are happy to help you and prepared to schedule a private tour. Again this is completely unique and worth a no matter if you are a military historian or completely new to military history. An impressive place with awesome people. Thank you so much to Mathilde and Marcel. ❤️ M & M's are amazing hosts and care so much about the history of WW2. The M&M is by far the most humbling place I visited while in the area. I had the honor of visiting in early 2020 before the pandemic began. Marcel's personal of what he experienced during WWII will bring you to tears and help you realize what a great world we live in now after such evil tried to take over and destroy a part of humanity. Mathilde, Marcel's wife, is a PHENOMENAL host and can share every detail of each item they've got in their museum. She remembers who it came from, where it came from, and when it came from. Her incredible gift to continue to share the of so many men and women, civilian and military, is unmatchable. They have such a great calling and are a major blessing to this world we live in. I look forward to being able to them again one day in the near future. Thank you for your kind and friendly hospitality. God bless you! Remember is a rare gem among all WWII museums. It's so unique, so interesting, so alive that I can't put it into words. You just have to it. Mathilde guided us through this incredible with her kindness and sympathy. These are personal stories, told by those who lived through this dark period in our history. So many details, so much care, so much work has gone into this exhibition. The recognition and affection that the MMs have for war veterans after so many years is heart-warming. I'll never forget Marcel's smile as he welcomed us and said goodbye, transmitting kindness and tenderness. I was also lucky enough to have the book telling his story and that of his family autographed by him. I will treasure this very special day. It is important to note for those interested that the must be scheduled in advance. Enjoy this visit, I recommend you to it, nature is beautiful, good ways The finest WWII in Europe, IMHO. All of the museums, including the Remember Museum, have "stuff", but this has STORIES. about the grunts that did the fighting, bleeding, and dieing. Hands down one of the most fascinating and interesting museums I have ever visited. M&M were incredibly kind and made the experience one to remember. I highly recommend checking out this awesome piece of history. Look forward to visiting again next time I’m in town!! We came across the Remember somewhat last minute while we were staying in a nearby town. I am so grateful that we did. Remember is a treasure. This is unlike any experience you've had before. You see so many genuine artifacts but you also get to here the behind them and hear about the people they belonged to. It was such a special experience. Thank you Marcel and Mathilde for taking the time to give my family and tour and let us experience the amazing place you've created! What a great place to visit! Not a very standard museum, bot the story and items make it a real treat! Thanks to Marcel & Mathilde this amazing place exist! The respect shown to the veterans is huge. We contacted the for a tour with a dutch guide and was all good! Highly recommend taking the time to Marcel and Mathilde and listening to the incredible of WWII and Marcel’s childhood. So much work has been put into this and it deserves to be recognized!
