There’s also a large bonfire area, perfect for grilling sausages or enjoying a meal cooked over the fire, allowing families to relax and take in the surroundings while watching the animals. It’s truly a great spot to visit with children. Our visit in November was accompanied by perfect weather, enhancing the experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place. But what I didn't expect at all to feel so emotional about the conditions held in. They are trapped, lonely, sitting in filthy and small cages, totally inappropriate to their natural habitat. Somewhere around 40 people are sitting and passing stressed creatures from one person to another. It's breathtaking and I don't mean it positively. Some are unhealthy and need medical care. I recently visited Animal Island and was deeply concerned about the welfare of the animals. Many of them appear to be kept in enclosures that are too small for their needs. For example, birds of prey such as owls, eagles, and hawks are housed in enclosures so small that they have no space to fly, which is essential for their physical and mental well-being. A snowy owl was sitting on the ground, which is unusual for this species and may indicate health problems. Other also show signs of distress. The ostrich enclosure is very small, and the birds have visible skin conditions without any signs of medical treatment. Several alpacas have noticeable skin issues, yet they remain in close contact with visitors, including children. Additionally, the guard dog appears unkempt, with matted fur and dirt, suggesting a lack of proper care. Another concerning aspect is the crowded indoor sessions, where large groups of people are brought into a small room for presentations. The noise levels are very high, and the appear visibly stressed—some were shaking and displaying signs of fear. The only payment option is cash, which might be inconvenient for some visitors. I strongly believe that this facility should improve the conditions for the by providing larger enclosures, proper veterinary care, and a less stressful environment.
