My favorite place to go and get a good walk. There is a trail that goes around the base with beautiful views if your fitness level won't let you climb up to the top of the crater. (I personally think it's not necessary to go that route it's been trampled so much that I think it's a bit dangerous) There is a viewing platform that is safer that allows you to peek inside the crater. Remember to pack out your Toilet paper if you have a Bio break, please respect nature and do not leave anything behind the ✌🏼 Great hike. In der Früh ist es super zum Wandern, Temperaturen toll, kein Mensch vor Ort und die Atlashörnchen trifft man auf dem Rundweg. Der Weg zum Calderón Hondo lohnt sich mehr als der erloschene Vulkan selbst. Man hat einen Tollen Blick über Lajares und das Umland. Auch die Atlashörnchen die auf dem Weg anzutreffen sind, sind wirklich toll. Was etwas schade ist, ist vor allem der Kamelkot, der auf dem unteren Teil des Weges zu finden ist und der schmale Weg an sich. Der Weg ist an sich sehr einfach zu gehen, aber gerade kleinere Kinder oder Leute mit Geheinschränkungen sollten vorsichtig sein. Wir haben leider beobachtet, dass ein kleines Kind, motiviert durch die Atlashörnchen, angefangen hat zu laufen und dann gestürzt ist, was blutig endete. Die Größte Enttäuschung war aber, dass der Weg den wir eigentlich gehen wollten gesperrt war und man nur rechts entlang zum Calderón Hondo gehen konnte.
