The food was good, but the service was extremely disappointing. It felt as if they were deliberately being rude. They were pushing things around and handing over food with their backs turned, almost like we weren’t there. It made me question if we had done something wrong to deserve such treatment. Great place for a typical Portuguese meal. Menu with plenty of choice. We had some starters and soups. The tomato soup with egg was absolutely delicious. Best tomato soup I've had. The staff attending to the tables were attentive and polite. A lovely find, looked closed but so we tried it The staff were welcoming and very helpful. We had the Piranha for 2 people, came with chips, rice, black beans and fried banana. The meat is sliced at the table, taken back to the grill and sliced again. Perfect. There were a mix a locals and tourists giving the restaurant a good vibe. We stopped at a town on our way to Lisbon, we were getting desperate looking for a place to eat and after parking up we asked a lady who pointed us to this place. Fantastic service, and the food was absolutely amazing. Language barrier not an issue, they spoke to me in Spanish and English, made me feel very embarrassed I hadn't learned any Portuguese!! great place to spend a dinner here. we were lucky to get in at 7:30pm as first guests without booking. Most of the tables were reserved. It was also a public holiday, so maybe that's the reason. we like their soup of the day, which was chicken soup with rice , chicken breast, onion, with an amazing touch of mint. I like it very much. The main courses we ordered were very generous. it was a fun night, and we also enjoyed a full house here. Delicious authentic Portuguese food! Very busy so book ahead. They accommodated us with no reservation but all tables full or booked. Fast and very friendly service. Tried their best at English translation. Good atmosphere. Loved it! We arrived at a very busy period during Sunday lunch, but managed to get the last table. Waited a while for our food, but well worth it and all freshly cooked. Also gave us a chance to check out the amazing looking food brought out to other diners. Don't miss out on eating here, the tomato and egg soup starter is worth a visit on its own👍 It was clean and they managed to find as a table. Those are the only positives. Food was not good, nobody speaks English.
