The queue can be very long but both times we visited it was quiet. We tried the cheese curd and the jam donuts. Both were amazing. They only accept though so make sure to bring some. W środku mieści się specyficzną pączkarnia z czasów dawno minionych. Naprawdę warto. Świeże cieplutkie pączki sprzedawane są prosto z blachy wyjeżdżającej z kuchni. Zaskoczyły nas pączki nadziewane mięsem podawanym z dużą filiżanką złocistego bulionu. Klientela w każdym wieku, ale sporo jest osób starszych. Siedzi się przy wysokim blacie barowym, ale są też niskie stoliki po rogach. Jest kącik higieniczny z umywalką. I think this is a must do , not only for the food, but also for feeling so authentic. The price is also fair , and really worth the at least once during your to Kaunas. We were craving and found this little spot. It was life changing. I haven’t spent one day since entertaining those golden gates not thinking about this place. Cannot recommend enough. We had the jam donuts, the traditional curd donuts, the soup, the chicken donuts, the meat donuts, and the mushroom donuts. Preparing time was really fast even when there was quite lots of people. Tabled water with oranges and lemons tasted poorly. Like they didn't squeeze it any, and didn't washed it before. This place is closed during business hours. If you want to go there, and think it is open, it may be closed by the time you get there. Even though the business hours claim until 8pm, i have not seen once this place open until 8pm. They probably close at 6pm or something. So, when planning your visit, keep in mind if you it after 18:00, or 6pm, ita likely to be closed even if business hours say otherwise.... Delicious to take out. But it's very crowded and can pay just with cash. I had and pies here for breakfast, and they're always delicious. The service is friendly, and the staff speaks some English. The prices are average. The coffee isn't great, but it's similar to what they had back when this place first opened. Russian era cafe preserved completely... Simple food cooked well.... Staff all seemed to have been there for years... Doughnut with meat filling an unusual but tasty special item on the menu.... Interior architecture especially the ceiling worth a look.... Very typical local bakery, fresh made - hot, with marmalade, mince. Chicken broth available since 11a.m. unfortunately, no coffee machine, can't have a capuchino, but black coffee is ok. I was told to try it, but jaysus is was soo bad I lack the words to describe it. Stay away at any cost is my advice. You just can't be this hungry to eat what they give you. The were really fresh and warm. The workers were sweet but the queue was long so people were really cramped inside, I recommend takeout.
