One of the Top rateds in Mercurey Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Excellent cellar to a huge range of local producers. Cosy setting. Enomatic machines (automatic dispensing of using a pre-paid card - the only way to enable a merchant to serve such a wide range by the glass). Helpful staff available to offer advise. If you want to feel special, tasting with the winemaker, this isn’t the place. They can however advise which vineyards to visit for such and experience, and enable you to try a few different producers to see which are most to your liking. Cave à vin...Wine cellar. It is always interesting to go a producer and the wines. Often it can be in a stone walled cellar with the smell of casks. You and spit and chat to people involved with making and selling their wines. Great experience. The Caveau Divin in Mercurey isn't quite this experience. It is in fact a type of 'bar' where you can the of different wineries of Mercurey. But for each tasted you pay and the are stored in a machine that measures out the 2cl of served into the glass. For myself this breaks all the charm of visiting a cellar. It's clinical but lacks magic. Anyway the person serving us was very competent and helpful and we got to the we wanted. Parking is free and the vineyards around quite lovely. You can of course try your luck directly with the local wineries. We had been sent to the Caveau simple because the producer we had visited was out of stock. Friendly staff who speak English and French, but most importantly, 60+ of the best local varieties to sample and buy. You can buy a card for €5 that you sit into the digital display, and it gives you different tasting sizes to try. We were clearly there to buy though, so the staff took us around and we didn't need to buy the card to sample. Really good value way to try and buy some good Burgundy wines. Nice democratic place. You pay a fair price for tasting by glass and can choose the amount. Recommend. Good to get familiar with multiple producers from the area Very Friendly this journey... Thanks a lot to the all maker 😉 During a short stay at Mercurey we were advised to visit the caveau to discover the mercurey wine. We were very disappointed with the lack of advice or guidance during the tasting. We were handed a card and asked to get going. It led to a very bad impression of the of this region Other people tasting at the same time seemed to have guidance..led us to think it had to do with the color of our skin...i hope not!!!! Excellent place to try several of the local producers at once. Great variety of to taste, reasonably priced and very helpful staff.
