They carried out an for a family member. The was thorough, understanding and very pleasant to deal with. The overall experience when handling such a difficult issue was very positive. Of special note were Dr Helena and Ben I ultimately settled with using 'The Service' as they had a local clinic location to my home. They delivered a patient led experience and left myself and my Wife feeling listened to and ended up providing me the that has helped me better understand my lifetime (of 34 years) of questions. From the kind admin staff on the phone lines and emails to the patient and understanding clinical staff that put my care needs first, 'The Service' delivered an excellent experience. There are many options available to potential patients, all with different pricing points. I researched a few others before choosing these guys. I would advise anyone to do the same but IF you choose 'The Service', you will be in safe hands. Thank you all so much, you've helped change my life. 🫶 (and thank you for reading). I was told that because I am creative, use eye contact and share humour that I don't fit the category for autism. I am female and very high functioning. I spoke to them about it and they said they will discuss it further with me but with a fee. I don't want to give them more money. Luckily I have spoken to a different clinician and actually got an diagnosis, she specialises in high masking females. I'm disappointed I spend so much money on using this service, I like the way they approached my case was with an extremely outdated box ticking exercise. They put mostly everything down to dyslexia, which I found difficult to comprehend, and kind of damaging. It lazy and impersonal. If you are high masking do not use this service. I honestly can’t thank The in Hull enough. From start to finish, the whole was smooth, kind, and genuinely life-changing. I’m in my early twenties and reached out for an after a mental health crisis, as the mental health crisis team strongly suspected - and from the very first interaction, I supported and understood. The coordinator was amazing - always quick to reply, helpful, and so reassuring throughout. It made such a difference to feel like someone was consistently there and genuinely cared. Both clinicians I saw were incredibly kind, gentle, and understanding. I so safe and seen, which meant the world considering how vulnerable I going into it. They really listened and made sure I heard. From my initial enquiry to receiving my and full feedback letter, the whole took around six weeks, which is honestly incredible. I’m so grateful to have found this and would absolutely it to anyone considering an assessment. I recently received an and subsequent of autism, at the Manchester branch. The team were excellent from start to finish. They contacted me quickly with all the information required and the expected timeline. The clinicians were fantastic, empathetic and put me at ease. On recieving the they were incredibly supportive with a excellent and set of recommendations. They made me feel very positive about my neurodiversity and new identity. The followed NICE guidelines and all aspects of this was explained to me. I genuinely like I was in the hands of experts I cannot thank Helena and Sophie enough. I recently used The in Cardiff for my diagnosis. I must say the provided throughout was exceptional. From the initial contact to the final diagnosis, all of the staff were fantastic. The was straightforward and well explained, I was treated with the utmost respect and compassion throughout. I would highly them for anyone wishing to go private. The I received from The was excellent. They were professional and quick to respond to all my communications. During the assessments, I heard and respected. Both of the assessors were kind, patient, and thorough, and the feedback I received was very insightful. The administrative staff handling my case were very attentive and always prompt to respond to my emails. The waiting list was short; I completed all the assessments and was diagnosed within 3-4 months of first making contact with the service. I would definitely The to others seeking assessment. Very disappointed with the received. I WISH I HAD READ ALL THE 1 STAR COMMENTS BEFORE I BOOKED -THEY ALL MIRROR MY EXPERIENCE . The only reason I have rated this as 5 star is the hope that some people will read this and do LOTS of research about this company before booking. My adult daughter was left feeling far worse than when we started the process. The complaints procedures are woefully inadequate and you are left with nowhere to complain, no regulating body, nothing. What a waste of £2,000 and hours of anxiety. The assessments and subsequent meetings very much like a box ticking exercise, not at all what we expected given the advertisement. Not sure this company is as big as it portrays. Do LOTS of research and ask LOTS of questions before booking. The were absolutely brilliant in assessing, observing and diagnosing our son's ASD. They worked to a tight deadline and the final submitted was incredibly insightful and helpful. We were so impressed that they took the time to get to know our son and feed back to us in detail about their findings. I couldn't The more strongly. After being let down by the LA waiting lists we reached out to the service. 1st contact with Joshua Lockwood was extremely helpful. No rush no pressure just professional advice, answered all my questions and sent me all the relevant information to look over in my own time. When I decided to go ahead with the private Lydia Morgan looked after me from start to finish ensuring I fully understood everything and set up my appointments. She was highly professional. All the professionals involved were exceptional, empathetic and patient. The whole was so professional and smooth. We had a straight forward timetable of meetings with speech and language therapists and educational psychologists. Emma Jassim was lovely with my daughter and Louise Highly, again exceptional with us guiding us through my daughters years and needs and made us feel at ease and for the first time I supported and understood for all we do as parents rather than a failure. The and detailed all received in a professional and timely manner. I can’t thank them or them enough. If like us, you have spent years on a list with years to go and your child desperately needs the support, then I strongly you reach out to The Service. As with most parents awaiting an on the NHS I was getting impatient and needed my son’s before he was 50 so I looked at going private. After looking at MANY different companies I chose The because they were mid range with their pricing, the had a good reputation and fast availability. From the first contact I was given a contact in admin who booked all the appointments and I was able to ask many questions through email with a prompt responses. The 3 appointments were with 3 different psychiatrist, the initial parent appointment was by video call using google, the next two were face to face (the third one should have been a school observation but because of my son being 16 he was allowed to refuse this and have a face to face instead). All clinicians were lovely, understanding and easy to talk to. The whole was done within 2 months due to it being over Christmas the took a little longer to be produced but I had it by the first week in January. The is electronically sent, contains everything you need for the and recommendations moving forward… Overall I couldn’t this highly enough, I will be using them again for my other child. Thank you service, you’ve been amazing! The failed to adequately take into account selective mutism and masking, and the role these factors play in differences in behaviour between home and school. During the meeting, I was spoken to in a derogatory and unprofessional manner. I was told that the assessor had “never had a meeting like mine before.” When I explained that I have ADHD, the assessor stated that he had to adopt a particular tone when speaking to me. I later explained that this tone patronising. The assessor then said that the reason for speaking to me in this way was to prevent me from talking over him. Given that this works with children and families with special educational needs, I found this approach concerning. The interaction demonstrated a lack of understanding, sensitivity, and inclusivity towards individuals with additional needs. Overall, the conduct was not reflective of a that is perceptive or appropriately equipped to support people with special needs. The were excellent with carrying out a combined for our son. Importantly for us, they carried out in-person assessments for him alongside online appointments with us as parents for the interview assessments. The whole was excellent from start to finish, and it was completed in a matter of weeks. At the end of the process, we had a very helpful feedback appointment including next steps to support our son. This was accompanied by a detailed written detailing those recommendations and other resources for us to refer back to later. We would 100% them We chose The Autusm as they made it very clear that they follow the NICE guidelines and although our daughter is 35, we that this was important when dealing with official bodies in the future. We were testing for ASD and ADHD The have been brilliant from start to finish. The admin staff answer the phone quickly, have a friendly manner and nothing is too much trouble. ( much appreciated with the number of emails the involves and also having to rearrange appointments. ) The clinicians put us at our ease and were very understanding when we struggled to remember some childhood behaviours. The face-to-face took place only 14 miles from our home and again, the assessor put our daughter at ease. I wouldn't hesitate to them Thank you to the whole team This is worth every penny for giving families the support they need at such challenging times. They are so professional, gentle amd friendly. Our family would them to anyone. After waiting nearly 2 years for an nhs assessment, I decided to go private. Right from the start the staff at The were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, both over the phone and face to face, and were happy to answer my many many questions before booking with them. They made me feel at ease every step of the way. The itself was extremely thorough, as was the final report. Extremely pleased and grateful for the wonderful provided. Absolutely to anyone who is still deciding who to go to for an assessment. I used the to get a private for my 4 year old son. From first contact to point of was under two months. Professional that were responsive with communicant and put my child and myself at ease during all stages of the process. The diagnostic and recommendations were detailed and have been invaluable at ensuring strategies are put in place to support my son both in school settings and home. I would the for any parent looking to get a private assessment. We contacted The at the beginning of November and had completed the whole by the beginning of December. The communication from the was exemplary and all members of staff were helpful, friendly and professional. My son was put at ease in all appointments and we as a family listened to and supported. The provided was thorough and sent to us swiftly after the last virtual appointment. We would absolutely engaging with their services. Very efficient and professional service. The whole was completed in just a few weeks after booking. We listened to throughout and the assessors explained everything very clearly. I attended this clinic for later in life assessments/diagnosis. My experience was a very positive one and I'd just like to extend a huge thank you to my therapists for assisting me through the process. The meetings are thorough and intense, however I was shown true kindness and care throughout and I value the knowledge, advice, and time they put into doing their best for me. I was also provided with lots of aftercare and direction for moving forward which has provided invaluable extra support. Thank you Extremely thorough and professional service, from the booking and organisation of appointments, pre-service support and collation of documentation right through to the online and in-house discussions and assessments. My daughter was made to feel safe and secure throughout her interactions with the clinicians; and us, as parents, were also made to feel listened to, understood and given fantastic support and information on how to move forward. The feedback and were very insightful and helpful, and turned around in a fast time, so a reduced time waiting anxiously for the outcome. The school has accepted her without question and also praised on how thorough the had been. I could go on about the awesomeness of The but I think I have summed it up - Highly recommended. When we were looking for a private clinic to get our daughter assessed we couldn’t have picked a better place ! The we used was the Manchester based clinic and from the very start it was amazing. Everything from appointments to feedback was done with such professionalism. All the clinicians were incredible and truly listened to all our concerns, including really understanding my daughter’s needs and working so well with her in the face to face visits. The outcome of the was what we were expecting and our daughter has combined ADHD, and with the amazing support and professional diagnoses from the team, we can now provide our daughter with all she needs. Thanks so much Clear upfront pricing, quick, helpful and staff spoke in terms we understood. If you unsure about anything just ask them. Rate them top notch. Everyone was very kind and thorough in their investigations. The most amazing thing is the speed of the - just over a month between booking and the final diagnosis! We have recently used the to carry out an assessment. We have found their communication and understanding going through this excellent. We were well informed about the and given plenty of time to ask any questions we had. The was carried out in a professional and timely manner in a relaxed environment. The team provided verbal feedback with an opportunity for us to discuss this with them, as well as a detailed on the findings. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Service. We recently used The for an ADHD for our 17 year daughter and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the team so much for their very efficient from start to finish. The waiting time was just the right amount and allowed us time to prepare documentation, notes etc and we very looked after during the whole process. The on-line was handled very carefully and allowed our daughter to be involved as much as she could manage but without applying too much pressure and we as parents very listened to. Would highly and it has helped us to now move forward with the provided and recommendations. I used this for a joint and adhd for my child. I was really impressed with the quality of the - it was very thorough and well-organised. It was also very quick to arrange appointments! The clinical team completing the assessments were all brilliant, showing lots of empathy and helping my child feel at ease and communicate as well as possible. The findings were explained sensitively and I the team were open to all our questions and very helpful. The final was detailed and well-evidenced and had lots of helpful recommendations for both home and school. I would wholeheartedly the to anyone seeking a diagnosis. For a long time we struggled with our son and just knew there was something different about him. After being told NHS waiting times were over 24 months, we we had no choice but to go private for the sake of our 9-year-old. At that point, he would have been starting secondary school before we even received a diagnosis, and he was already struggling. As parents, we it was our duty to get answers sooner rather than later. Choosing The was honestly the best decision we could have made. From start to finish the whole was smooth, professional, and well communicated. We listened to, supported, and reassured every step of the way. I would highly this to any parent in a similar position. Review: Extremely Disappointing – Poor Quality, Misleading Costs, and Deeply Concerning Practices Our experience with this has been deeply disappointing from start to finish, and in my opinion, it more like a money-making exercise than a genuine attempt to support children and families. To begin with, we were provided with a quote, paid a substantial amount based on that quote, and proceeded to book the appointments. Only then did we receive a phone call informing us that we needed to pay additional charges due to travel distance—information the already had from the very beginning. This was not only frustrating but completely avoidable. After speaking to other families, it seems we are not the only ones who have been hit with extra, previously undisclosed costs after the initial quote, which raises serious concerns about their transparency. We also know of other families who feel they received an inaccurate or misleading outcome, which makes the situation even more worrying. The itself incomplete and lacked the depth we expected and contradictory . Despite providing extensive information—including detailed examples of behaviors, observations from different settings, and clear parental concerns—the final did not reflect the evidence we had submitted. One of our key concerns was that our son was masking his difficulties, something we explicitly raised ahead of the assessment. Masking is a well-recognized phenomenon in autistic individuals, yet this was not meaningfully considered, nor was there any indication that this possibility informed the conclusions reached. Given that is a neurodevelopmental condition present from birth, it was disheartening to see clear signs we highlighted simply overlooked. Our parental input, which should have been central to the process, minimised or dismissed entirely. This left us feeling unheard, excluded, and questioning the accuracy and fairness of the outcome. In addition, there were discrepancies between the verbal feedback we received and the final written report. The was also delivered later than promised, which further delayed our son’s ability to access essential support and interventions. The impact of all this has been significant. The outcome of the original directly affected our son’s access to appropriate educational and support, ultimately influencing his wellbeing and development. We have since gone through the NHS pathway (BeeU), where Healios completed a new assessment. They took the time to understand our son properly, observed him carefully, and—unlike the previous service—truly saw the real him. Healios have now diagnosed him as autistic, which aligns with everything we have been raising for years and finally validates his lived experience. Something I strongly suggest to others is: go back and read the reviews. In my experience, the provider always seems to have an explanation or an answer ready when concerns are raised, rather than genuinely taking accountability. I have also since learned that the organisation appeared on Panorama in 2023, and I’ve come across multiple reviews mentioning concerns about staff working conditions. While I can’t personally verify those issues, seeing so many similar stories has added to my discomfort with how this operates. For me, the reason for sharing this is simple: I want to warn other families. I don’t want anyone else to be left out of pocket, dismissed, or given an that leaves their child struggling because of a misleading or inaccurate outcome. Families seeking assessments are often already stressed, exhausted, and desperate for help—no one should have to go through what we did. Based on our experience, I cannot this service. I truly hope other families will be better informed and that meaningful changes are made. We went through the to get our son an for autism. From the very first phone call to all the emails and meetings everyone was so nice and helpful. If we had any questions they were answered and everything was explained. All appointments were made well in advance. Our son is 10 and for 9 years we have believed he was on the spectrum, sadly no one else has ever agreed with us as he masks alot and fades into the background. For the first time we feel like we have been listened too and they actually saw our son for who he is. I had regular contact through email and anytime I wanted to add something to his file or evidence I like I could do this. Every thing was explained thoroughly and we received such a detailed at the end, with all the observations and recommendations. We did alot of research in places locally and are very happy we chose the service. We had our son tested for after the NHS failed to do it years before. From start to finish they made my son feel at ease. It was so easy to book everything was complete within a couple of weeks i could not them enough top class and they have made a massive difference for my sons and our future now as he will get the help he has needed for the last 5 years. We are extremely happy with The Service. From day one they dealt with us with utmost professionalism. Answering any questions we had, putting us at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. After years of being passed from pillar to post we finally have a of ADHD. This will enable us to finally move forward put plans in place and get the appropriate treatment for our daughter and strategies for us as she moves into adulthood. I wouldn’t hesitate to them.
