A realy beautifull place, I would call it even a hidden pearl. When paying for the tickets you also get a free guide(10 lei adult, 5 lei students). I got a tall guy as a guide which was patient and willing to answer any question, the.other guides(female) were very inauspicious. Nice. I enjoyed my wander around. I arrived at the same time as a group of Romanian school children. About 10/15 of them. Teenagers. We got talked around the site in Romanian, which I don't understand. A lot of the displays are in English. It's worth a visit Very nice place, with a very rich history. I reccomend taking the guided tour in order to find out about it. Too bad thou that the state doesn't care for theese hidden treasures as the place has a lot of unexploited potential. Located 45 minutes from Bucharest, this palace is a must-stop if you travel west to Pitesti or the town of Targoviste. It is representative of the XVII century Romanian Brancovenesc architecture style. Only a few years ago the place was a total ruin. I believe that this place will become a 5 stars site after the finalization of the restoration works. Nevertheless....stop and see it. A very nice place to visit. The guide is very knowledgeable and it is inducting you in the old history of the place with a lot of stories. I was impressed by the architecture and the interior details of the walls. If you want an escapade in the weekend, for sure it is a place to consider. Entrance is cheap and the place is well preserved. A must see architectural and historic attraction in the countryside of Dâmbovița region, easily accessible through the A1 highway + 5 more km on county roads or, alternatively, just traveling on winding county roads in agricultural farmlands, coming from DN7/DN71 Bucharest - Târgoviste old route (of course, from the experience point of view, this latter option is advisable). The castle and its compounds are in very good condition (being fully restored and largely not authentic, as the originals have been lost to Otoman aggression), but the workmanship of the restaurateurs kept the looks and feels of the buildings as per original. Very nice place to spend a few hours for a weekend day trip The palace is well restored, it looks very good inside. The gardens need more care, but overall it was a pleasant experience A beatiful palace from the late 1600s full of history. I was impressed by the restoration work, really well done. The entry fee is quite cheap, 10lei/pers and the schedule is 9am to 13Pm. 13-14PM - 1h break for cleaning. 14-17:30pm last visitor This is a hidden gem. It was built for Constantine, the elder prince Brancoveanu, by a Venetian team in a record 9 month. Great architecture and wonderfully restored piece of Romanian medieval history. Easy access. Friendly staff. Cheap entrance. Definitely worth a visit Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
