Located 45 minutes from Bucharest, this palace is a must-stop if you travel west to Pitesti or the town of Targoviste. It is representative of the XVII century Romanian Brancovenesc architecture style. Only a few years ago the place was a total ruin. I believe that this place will become a 5 stars site after the finalization of the restoration works. Nevertheless....stop and see it. A very nice place to visit. A must see architectural and historic attraction in the countryside of Dâmbovița region, easily accessible through the A1 highway + 5 more km on county roads or, alternatively, just traveling on winding county roads in agricultural farmlands, coming from DN7/DN71 Bucharest - Târgoviste old route (of course, from the experience point of view, this latter option is advisable). The castle and its compounds are in very good condition (being fully restored and largely not authentic, as the originals have been lost to Otoman aggression), but the workmanship of the restaurateurs kept the looks and feels of the buildings as per original.
