Great city, graceful river A navigable waterway for some part of its course, Leeds is one City on its banks that has benefited from it and was in all likelihood the reason that Leeds is where it is,Rivers being the ancient links between communities and trade,as you pass the village of Beal approx 15 miles down stream from Leeds you must join the Selby canal,this then takes you to the river Ouse in Selby,the River Aire connects with several canals and it joins the Calder River at the historic Town of Castleford Good fishing for Pike ,will update after one or two more trips . Inner city riverside paths. Through historic dock or wharfe area. Improvements have been made but it’s not totally accessible on both sides. Wildlife has flourished this year. Pretty sure I only saw a small part of the river. Quite wet looking if that helps. Update 2023. I've seen more of this river. Still looks quite wet. A lovely place for a stroll or a cycle. It's a little here and there getting closer to the city centre where the paving/path might not be up to scratch, so bring sensible shoes with you. My best place to do walks Plenty of wide open space and fresh air. Car was are not worth the money. Burst hose reported it next time was too the right no soap brush not working one in left still got a burst hose but they had ducktaped it. Not be back. I honestly have zero memory of this place. It looks nice from the photos tho.
