Lovely place for a walk, so scenic! Beautiful fresh air and silence. We came from Horsforth and it was about 25 min drive. Then there is a lovely pub call the Sun Inn that is worth the visit. This is the smaller of the two reservoirs that join to each other so you can around both, this is probably an hour or so and fewston closer to two hours. It can get busy which is mainly an issue for parking when walking around there’s so much space you won’t be crowded. Parking, ices, friendly walkers Love both Swinsty and Fewston reservoirs which are next to each other. Plenty of options for longer and shorter walks. The path round Swinsty is very accessible. I think that you could get round with a pushchair or wheelchair pretty easily. Visited the Swinsty today Nov.19th 2023 on a rainy day but still enjoyed the walk. We did the complete hike starting from Fewston car park , Fewston circular hike and then combining Swinsty cicrcular which altogether came around 11.42 kms which I did it with my 4 year old son. We finished the trek with an ice cream a the car park. You can have lovely walks around the even on a chilly day. It is brilliant to spot birds like herons. It is a very nice breezy place. 5/5 definitely recommend Nice walk, no views One of my favourite places to go with my dogs... Only downside is that the way round the takes also through a road in places one of which doesn't have any pedestrian path which in busy periods can be tricky to pass. Drove up from Leeds to visit this place my parents recommended. We did a lovely around Swinsty reservoir, took us about an hour and a half at a leisurely to complete it, nothing too challenging and provided quite the scenic views. Definitely worth a visit when the weather is good like we had, plenty of wind to cool you down in areas with opportunity to further around Fewston (on our to-do list). Be cautious of the parking ticket system which confused us and a few on arrival, there are ticket machines (as of writing)! Had a peek into the old (and still used?) pump house which looked amazing, worth a peep inside the windows if you get the chance! Absolutely stunning place. Nice little walk. Dogs welcome. From the open paths around the itself to the deep woodland surrounding it, there's something for any nature lover. Large carpaek if you're driving there and very dog friendly. Top place for a with the kids, stunning views, ducks, benches, toilets and an ice cream van all in one loop on a nice track!
