Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Yes, it’s expensive, yes, it takes time, and yes it’s an experience! The cellar is unheard off. They have the most exquisite and exclusive wines seen in a restaurant! That was so unique! The and his wife joined us on our table which made it all so communal. We came by and stayed overnight. All in all - a wonderful stay. The food was really good. I couldn’t believe that they provided me with a gluten free and lactose and dairy free menu on short notice. I still can’t believe I didn’t take a photo of my favourite dish. The halibut! I’m still licking my lips thinking about it. What a lovely experience! You start with a 25 minute to an island outside of Bergen! We ordered the Shellfish Tasting dinner! It was delicious! The soup bisque was whipped and had flavor. The wolf fish on top of the soupwas exceptionally good! This was my first time eating this and it was one of the best fish I have eaten. The smoked salmon had great flavor! The lobster was also another favorite with a delicious butter sauce! The servers were charming and efficient! My gin and tonic was a perfect drink with meal! The entire dining and transportation was perfect! We arrived with our own without a reservation. Lucky us, we had a very welcoming arrival and everyone made an effort to squeeze us in. The five course tasting menu was a real treat. We had a tour of the impressive cellar and the enormous selection made it very easy to find our match for the evening. The whole team was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks 🙏🏻 for a great dinner experience,👍🏻. Wanted this place to be as as some of the travel videos, https://youtu.be/tEeRfrO0Jpk?feature=shared, raved. It wasn't. We ordered two towers and one regular meal. The food was disappointing. The cooked salmon was overdone. The mussels weren't cooked enough. The lobster claws were raw because they were not properly steamed before chilling...these are all 101 fails. And who puts smoked salmon on a chilled tower? If you're going to charge top shelf prices at least immitate the competitions' quality. I did enjoy the and we drank two bottles because the food did not live up to expectations. The seating selection was weird and our table was enough with some view yet others seemed to get the best locations upstairs for the sun set. The was fine. The service was and we tipped well on a that wasn't good. This party of 3 would not go again nor recommend this to anyone especially when the cooked to order at the Bergen market is fantastic and priced right. Save your dollars for restaurants that deliver or cook it yourself 🎯 Absolute must do if you’re here! We loved every dish and the views were stunning. Staff was incredible also! Do the pairing you won’t regret it! From the there to the food, drinks, staff, cellar tour, and back - excellent experience. I even had dietary restrictions that I learned about a week prior to our reservation and they kindly accommodated my needs. I only have photos of some of the food and as it was so delicious we forgot to take photos. Great experience, quality food, and an atmosphere perfect for my husband’s birthday dinner. Last night's dining at Cornelius Sjømat was truly remarkable. We were delighted to discover that we would be sharing the evening's with only ten other guests, creating an intimate and exclusive atmosphere. The restaurant's location on an island in the fjords, accessible only by boat, added to the unique and memorable nature of the experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and escorted to a private raw bar, where we were the sole occupants for the evening (Only ones to book raw bar). Our knowledgeable Chef Andre, a local from a nearby island, provided insightful information about the shellfish, all of which had been freshly caught the previous night in the surrounding waters. Following this delightful raw bar experience, we were led to the main dining area to begin our four-course tower. We were the only guests to select this particular menu option, as the other ten patrons opted for the standard five-course meal. Each course was exquisitely prepared and presented, showcasing the finest local seafood. During the meal, I had the opportunity to sample a locally crafted gin from the islands, savoring the unique flavor of pink pepper in a gin and tonic. As we neared the conclusion of our meal, the of the informed us that the Northern Lights were visible. Staff and guests alike eagerly rushed outside to the docks to witness this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. As we departed back to Bergen by boat, we were fortunate enough to catch a second glimpse of the Northern Lights, further enhancing the magical ambiance of the evening. Lovely food, and service. The setting is absolutely stunning and they put you at ease very quickly. Staff are superb and the was very charismatic. Only thing that I would say was a downside was whale being served but this is a personal preference. Highly recommend if you love We thought we may feel a bit stuck being there for 4 hours, but the is lovely and the is gorgeous with a mazing views. Staff were lovely and yes the food comes out slowly but its well timed so we didn't feel we were waiting too long. The food didn't seem particularly sustainable, Cod for example. Would recommend for a lovely experience, but not to have high expectations for the food, which was fine rather than good. This was the most and highly recommend. From the food to the atmosphere to the service everything was phenomenal. The 5 course tasting menu was the most seafood. Recommend getting the pairing with it. The view was incredible and coming by started and ended the evening with a great ambiance. Our server, who was from Spain and I wish I remembered his name was just so lovely. This is a MUST! It's a magical The here is so wonderful. The food was absolutely and our waiter Marian was the nicest most exuberant guy! He loved the sea and told us lots of places to go and facts about the food. He made the all the better for it. I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant, it is well worth it and will be a memory my husband and I look back on fondly for a long time. Was a bit hesitant to book a reservation because I had seen so many mixed reviews, but I am SO glad I did! I booked a lunch reservation for 5, and to my surprise, there was only one other couple that had joined us for our experience. The in itself was an experience, but when we got there, we were absolutely blown away. When you get there, you are warmly greeted by the staff. Our server was an girl named Paula (spell-check), who made sure we were happy during our entire time there. The introduced himself to us and told us to explore the property, which had breathtaking views. The food itself was amazing. Since we did the lunch, we had a sharing experience. First they brought bread, which would’ve been sufficient enough in itself, it was delicious! Our next course was a fish soup. Then, they brought out the cold tower, and everything on it tasted so fresh and delicious. It was more than enough for our party of 5. We had no idea we would also be getting mussels still before dessert, and honestly couldn’t even finish everything because there was so much food. By the time we got our dessert we were absolutely stuffed, but it was amazing! While we were there, we got to see the diving for sea urchins that they would be serving. Once he got back, he even let all of us try some fresh sea urchin that he had just caught. If we had booked a dinner (owner said that they were expecting 200 people for dinner on the day that we went), I don’t think that we would have gotten the same personal and intimate that we got for our lunch. Overall such a great that I would recommend to anyone that visits Bergen. Very cool setup with a trip and island location. Food was solid, but service for the took a bit long given the portion sizes.
