Something to do with Zeus and the Greek mythodology. Another amazing statue by the sea, depicting a modernised mythical item. This is the of Amaltheia. When Zeus was born and had to be hidden from his father, Kronos, in the cave of Diktaion Adron (also located in Crete), Amaltheia was the goat that fed him with honey and her milk. Strong as he was, baby Zeus accidentally broke off her while playing and, since then, that provided an endless supply of food, just like Amaltheia provided for the young god. Since then, the of Amaltheia (also known as Cornucopia) is a symbol of wealth, abundance and nourishment. Interesting sculpture of the goat that was used to give milk to Zeus (according with the legend) View of the sea and place is also very nice Ein tolles Horn🤗 keine Ahnung was sein Auftrag ist .... Nice artistic sculpture. Numerous interpretations. Good photo location. Why so many glowing reviews? The monument itself is not ugly (although it is a bit unkempt), but it is nothing spectacular. Yes, it is located in the promenade area, between Kitroplatia beach and the city's tourist port, and the view is very beautiful (especially at sunrise and moonrise). But you can't give 5 stars to a mediocre monument just because, standing next to it, you can enjoy a beautiful view. very nice sight. This statue is supposed to represent the of the goat that Zeus had fed at the time. It shimmers in different colors depending on the time of day. Sculpture imposante idéalement placée avec point de vue superbe Ładne zachody słońce,miłe wspomnienia Nice sculpture with a beauty blu light at evening. It symbolizes the greek story/mythology of Amaltheia. The most frequently mentioned foster-mother of Zeus. It's nice for kids to explain the story in combination with that sculpture. Interesting structure with some decent views of the sea and the city (depending on where you choose to stand). Nothing spectacular, but it seems to look nicer at dusk/night with the lights turned on. It seems the structure has gotten a bit worn from the sun / sea water, so it would be nice if the city could restore it to make it look a bit nicer compared to its current state. Πάνεμορφο, επιβλητικό γλυπτό στην παραλία, ένας φανταστικός περίπατος με μια πανέμορφη Ανατολή!!! Κάθε μετά διαφορετική!!! Very impresive place.Worth to go to see Beautiful panoramas! Amalthein or Cornucopia, the eternal symbol of abundance. Nice seaside walk side takes you there. Beautiful surroundings. Beautiful Spot with an interesting greek story. In de buurt authentieke vissersbootjes Precious art. Worth seeing and learning it’s history specially when the cave of Zeus birth, is an hour away from the place It is very beautiful especially at night with all the lights. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area! We visited at the end of May 2025 and it was quiet, we got time to take photos without anyone else about. The view itself is stunning with a 270 degree sea view, highly recommended if you are in the area. Nice place with magnificent view🤙 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
