The Stone Dolls or Kuklica (Куклуца) are located in a valley which in the past was a volcanic crater. They are naturally formed through an erosion process, which lasted over 10,000 years. The legend says it is a cursed wedding turning the bride, the groom, and all guests into "stone dolls". If you need a guide, it is offered. Also, there is a nice restaurant nearby, offering traditional food, nice wine and rakija. The Stone Dolls near Kuklica are a fascinating natural wonder. The rock formations look like frozen figures and spark the imagination. The area is quiet and atmospheric — definitely worth a short detour if you’re nearby. Really beautiful area with interesting rocks. There were also a couple of tortoises that we spotted! Sadly the footpaths are not that well maintained. We were there around 4pm and there was no one there to take an entry fee (which is a shame, due to the maintenance issue). But overall worth a visit for half an hour. The place has an interesting legend associated with it. When you enter the site they provide you a piece of paper with the legend on it. It is a great place to walk about and explore. The downside is the tight road there. It's one lane and if you encounter another car, someone has to back up to a wider space. If you don't mind the drive, I highly recommend it. Nice place, the enterance is free of charge, but if you want a guided tour, it will cost 120mkd per person. It is enough 1 or 2 hours to see the place. Make sure to take some snacks with you - there is no coffee/food available in the area (off season). Interesting place. The story about this place is stunning. The city must take better care. The place itself is all you see in the pics. Nothing more, Nothing special. 5min in the place is all you need. But the most disappointed thing was the "service": At the entrance gate there was no one. We waited two minutes and then we noticed a sign say tickets at the infocenter. We went to this infocenter and there was a lady there (speaking excellent English) that explained the price is 1.5euro for a local, in 3euro per a foreigner. I got a little upset and asked my friend if we really wana see the place, cause out of principle it annoys me to get the "special foreigners deal", the lady heard us and argued that it's too late to changed our mind cause we already entered, and we chose we can pay and than leave. We ended up paying and entered, but we felt bad and left after 3min there. Too bad it doesn't say online about the cost, and moreover too bad that tourist are treated like this. So, to summer up - not recommended in any way. When I visited the Stone Dolls site in North Macedonia, the man who was working there was not in a good mood at all. He barely greeted us, didn’t offer any information, and seemed upset whenever we asked a question. It felt like he didn’t want to talk to anyone. This created a very unpleasant atmosphere and made the visit less enjoyable. It was disappointing, especially since this is such an interesting and beautiful historical place. It is important to take disciplinary action for employees who are not suitable for working with the public. Roles that involve interacting with visitors require patience, good communication skills, and a respectful attitude. Employees who cannot provide these qualities can negatively impact the experience of visitors and the reputation of the place. Proper training, regular performance reviews, and appropriate discipline when standards are not met will help ensure a more welcoming and professional environment for everyone. Very beautiful natural creation. There is no entrance fee at the moment, however it will be ok if the tourist pay some symbolic amount 1-2 eur. The Road ca. 3 km from the main road is narrow but not difficult to drive. I recommend a visit to the Stone Dolls together with a visit to Kratovo. It should be free, but there are people who try to gather money from the tourists illegally. They do not keep the place well. Legend says it you will love this place. That legend is true. Another one tells of the Stone Dolls below, it tells the story of a wedding where the guests, including the bride and the groom were turned into stone. Of course, there’s a scientific explanation behind it, but all is written within a guide you can grab at the entrance. If you catch it later in the evening, it often offers a beautiful sunset above, especially if you sit on higher ground. Oh, and for any adventurists, this place has a Geocache! Have fun finding it! The scenery here is interesting and unlike anything else in the area. The man at the info centre was very friendly and welcoming. Worth a stop for a short hike if you’re in the area. Excelent place to visit only problem with filming with drone too many birds. So Drone lovers pay atention on this. But due to corruption and over employment from the local political parties, the place is sadly unkept and overgrown and mostly abandoned even though you pay to enter! Everything you see on the images is all there is, no point in going there to waste your time. You won't spend more than 10 or 15 minutes to see everything. They charged us 100 denar per person because we are from Macedonia. People not from Macedonia are forced to pay 240 denar per person. You're also not getting a receipt so they are openly stealing to fill their pockets. They say it's "private property" = it's not. They just printed a bunch of "private property" signs and force people to give them money.
