A great place for mountain bike enthusiasts. Just ensure you, as the adult, also have a bike. Trails are rightfully off limits to pedestrians. The pump track and playground are fantastic too. There's currently a Dino trail that's fun too, but it looks like number 1 (Last one) is missing. Fantastic little place. Wasn't there for a tour , but a very atmospheric place to walk round nonetheless. The industrial and rusty past is strangely beautiful. Car has a charged , there is a cafe, theatre, children's play area, skate and nature reserve there too. Highly recommend , will def return for a tour . Brilliant country on an old colliery site. Still retains many industrial feature such as the pit head winding etc. The kids play area is immaculately kept, and the whole site is a testament to Leicester District Council's vision for a derelict coal mining site. Also on site is an impressive and a theatre. Had to pay to (not so keen on that) but at last a car WITHOUT height restrictor barriers (my pet hate). Additionally there are 10 ev charging points. Could have been signed better. We took a chance using a brown sign on the roundabout, but drove past and had to turn round as it simply was not what we expected. On a separate note : Such a shame Leicester and Side has no provision for high vehicles like York does. It's a great place to visit but so hard with a Sprinter campervan. Lovely and playground the kids loved it carpark was cheap and good the small was very nice would highly recommend coming here with the kids Snibston Colliery is a good place if you like cave mines, and there is a tour guide. It's a good place for kids, there are a playground and cafe. Also, there is a car park. You need to book the place for a tour guide. Recommend place. Great place, guides are knowledgeable, and make the tour very enjoyable. There is a good children's play area. A very good cafe, catering for a lot of different dietary needs, all easily accessible. I take my Grandchildren here regularly so they can cycle on the pump track, they also have a Zip Line, Swings, climbing frame with different challenges on, with a slide and small stones you can scoop onto a bucket and send down a tube. There are cycle trails and paths that connect up to other trails in Coalville and also to a fishing lake. There is a cinema and by with a variety of food and the staff are very friendly and helpful, there is also a museum and tours about the Snibston Colliery. Love coming here and well with a visit. Nice place for a walk away with gravel and muddy (in places) paths. That being said we managed with a pushchair so not too muddy considering how much rain we had recently had. It also has a lovely playground for children.
