It's an important heritage site. Originally built in the 9th century, right now stands as rather well maintained ruins. Parking here might be difficult, there isn't necessarily a dedicated spot. Just a few minute from the main street. Wenn man gerade in der Region ist, kann man sich diese Ruine sicherlich auch ansehen. Viel ist jedoch nicht mehr vorhanden, da man die Burg als Steinbruch nutzte. Die Aussicht lohnt sich aber definitiv. Von der Burg sind nur noch wenige, stark restaurierte Mauern übrig. Sie wäre kaum der Erwähnung wert, hätte sie nicht eine bemerkenswerte Geschichte und eine grandiose Aussicht zu bieten. Daher lohnt sich ein Besuch unbedingt. Nice ruins with a great view. Sehr schöner Ort mit tollen Ausblick auf Vierwaldstättersee und Pilatus Wir kommen mindestens einmal im Jahr hierher zum Bärlauch pflücken und zum geniessen. Die Kinder können hier toben und klettern und an einen der Feuerstellen kann man es sich gut gehen lassen. Unterhalb der Burg ist ein Weiher und ein Bächlein, im Sommer geschützt von bäumen umgeben. Die Weitsicht ist toll. Kommen so gerne um zu verweilen. Excellent ruin for (careful) kids, can climb all over it. Just watch the entrance when arriving by car, the official parking is up the road to the left of the house and not the small dirt road on the right (which leads to a private property). The railings along the castle walls are very adventurous and definitely nothing for smaller kids (could easily fall off). Parental supervision is STRONGLY advised. This medeival ruin is remarkably well-preserved and offers fabulous views of Lake Lucerne. The educational plaques are written in German and are not translated into other languages.
