Couldnt get there, road closures caused traffic chaos. Too stressful for old guys like us.🥺 Could be potentially a lovely but unfortunately has fell into a state of disrepair, shame as Dalzell Estate is a wonderful place to walk and this would be a lovely to sit in and listen to the birds and running water for a little bit of solace. Well , this is more like a park for walking in the woods watching birds and maybe running or other non sitting down activity. I mean the Japan itself is a 3 doors which looks like Japanese and that is that. No benches or picnic areas. Raw nature mostly with trails to walk on. If you looking for something like that perfect. Parking available though to reach it easily if you want to do these activities or walk your dog. Lovely place for a mooch, The is part of the Dalzell Estate n9t very impressive. The estate is popular with dog walkers and offers few different routes to explore. Not far away is Baron's Haugh Natural Reservoir again good for dog walking Part of baron's haugh, nice for a walk. nice but every year more and more neglected Cracking country style park. Excellent walks in the woods or along the riverbank Good park for exploring kids loved Not very big and water feature in need od some work still a nice relaxing place to sit Lovely place. Do a lot of work in this area. Amazing walks. Always feel calm and cleansed after going here. Most underwhelming and uninspiring experience ever. For one, it's tiny, but it could work if it was actually maintained with more on offer. Surprisingly no Japanese Cameilla trees. Very surprising, considering how abundant they are in Scotland. The pond was cute, if dirty and poorly maintained. The highlight was the couple of small, charming bridges over the pond. Nothing to it really. A shame. Bit muddy because they were landscaping it and also a bit smaller than expected....still nice though Dalzell Estate is a beautiful for walks. When it is wet though the ground is very sodden and slippy. But I highly recommend the for walks. The Japanese is a hidden gem. But the best area, is the little church yard to the south (east of the RSPB Baron Haugh) of the area, with the ancient well .... that Motherwell gets its name from. The ancient Oak Tree (see pictures) on the driveway of the private stately home, dates back 800+ years, and is the oldest tree in north Lanarkshire. Great walk's in and around the Japanese garden, quite nice place Beautiful autumn colour at the Japanese Garden, Dalzell Estate Yes it is a bit overgrown, but a trip down memory lane. Still a wonderful place to be with lots to see including the witches circle.
