Shame to hear that where the castle once stood is now a sewerage works. The castle was demolished in 1934. What a sight it would have been. So many of the great houses of the Clyde Valley have gone now. The terrain is flat but not suitable for wheelchairs. There are no toilets. You can up or downstream for miles in both directions. It is popular with dog walkers. I would recommend this for a nice walk. Perfect place for a long or short walk. And if your gog swims. Perfect place to keep them cool in the hot summer weather. Stunning bridge and house on a lovely river walk. Only down side is it is next to a very busy road with limited parking. Nice along the river. Good for dogs. Quiet calm place. The water was a bit fast today for my comfort when I am with kids but the views and the birds singing it was amazing afternoon. We bought coffee and cake on the way at brookside garden centre and we had our camping chairs. As bridges go, this one is...adequate!
