When I arrived at the the Pub was closed and I could not gain access. I tried calling the number supplied and it rung out. Given this I went and found another hotel. When the owner called me back I told him the situation and not to take payment. Considering I couldn't get in and purposely booked a room with a pub which was closed, I think still taking payment is atrocious. Unscrupulous avoid. Great value for money. Clean, spacious rooms. Lovely big shower. We did not experience any noise from the pub below! It might not have been the most beautiful room but you get what you pay for! Manage your expectations people..... Thanks for having us. Wish I'd read the reviews first. Sunday and the room is vibrating with the music from the pub. I expected a bit of noise but this is ridiculous. Actually tempted to go to a different and cut my losses Now, if you’re coming for a party weekend, this is the for you. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for us, as we were only stopping overnight before carrying on our journey early the next morning. The pub downstairs was having a party, which did sound fun, but it wasn’t what we wanted. Don’t get me wrong—I wasn’t expecting complete silence, as it is a pub after all, but the noise went on for hours. So, be warned: if you’re after a quiet night’s sleep, this isn’t the for you. But if you’re looking for a lively party night, this place is perfect. Room was clean and warm but the noise from the pub downstairs was awful. The floor was literally vibrating until midnight. Noisy main road and drunk customers leaving pub below bedroom window. Avoid unless you are hard of hearing! It is listed as 4 star on one listing but nowhere near, loudest place I’ve ever been Do book here never ever!! i feel like i am sleeping on sidewalk its too noisy, no way out 4 star Really unhappy with the experience we had at the hotel, we understand that we knew we were staying above a pub however the website says that the pub closes at 12pm and it was open to at least 1/2pm every we were there. The floors are so thin you hear every single thing from the pub down the stairs. The rooms were also clean at a glance but when you open the drawers etc they were all dirty clearly not properly cleaned and the smell lingers on your clothes after , the room floor was like going down a hill . Very disappointing considering you are paying more or less the same as you would in a proper which is just £40 more than this . Not impressed. What a dreadful experience. I wouldn't even wish it o Donald Trump. Absolutely ridiculous noise levels. I do not want to take away the enjoyment of the punters. Regardless. The host should seriously reconsider renting these shabby flats to anyone who likes a good night's sleep. IT WONT HAPPEN. Do not stay here! I booked a four stay here, arrived at the premises at 17:30 and it was locked up. Rang the premises and couldn’t get through to enquire what was happening. Had to book and stay elsewhere. Requested a refund through their web site and no response from this either. I have been robbed of £198 as I cannot contact anyone to get an answer nor my money back. DO NOT BOOK THIS ESTABLISHMENT. The mounts that the mattresses are kept on are displayed outside in all weather. Partner found bugs in the bed! Stay was otherwise tolerable as we only needed a bed to sleep on, but our last (Friday) there was Karaoke taking place in the pub below until 1am. Like another poster, we weren't expecting complete silence, but the music was so loud that the room was shaking. There is no mention of karaoke events on the website at all so we had not come with appropriate ear protection. I have never experienced something so ridiculously loud (feels unsafe decibel wise to those in the pub let alone us upstairs!). Wouldn't recommend staying here at all. No response via emails regarding our stay.
