Needs a bit of maintenance but is a food teaching The place is filthy, is split in the middle going the long way (for classes) which leaves very little space for the rest of the kids to swim about. Brilliant staff, great pool, sauna and steam room next to so very lucky the way it's set up. I .go most days as do a lot of the same people. Simply a great facility for all your needs gymnasium are excellent 👌👌👍 Take the kids here for their lessons, staff are great. The facilities inside could probably do with an update, doesn't look like it has changed since I used to come here when I myself was a kid. I attend for my children’s lessons. the changing rooms could do with alan good clean or better yet updated, they are not the cleanest. There is not a spectator for watching the so advised to sit outside at a seating within the entrance and watch from a tv screen, there are not enough seats for all parents and most seats you cannot see the screen due to there only being 1. The viewing is situated at entrance which means all service users have to walk through here to go back and fourth to classes which i would imagine can not be very comfortable. When signing up my children i was told parents drop kids off then have to wait in the waiting area(entrance of leisure centre) I have been doing as instructed but I notice there are adults all around the changing facilities watching their children in lessons, which i assume they have also had the same advice not to do. I do not feel comfortable with this. There is no proper security or observation to monitor this. I also had a very rude staff member approach me and addressed my child which i was not happy about at all. After the lesson my child with all other children went to shower and because the soap from showers had been walked into the area, he assumed it was my daughter because she walked over and stood beside me whilst talking to instructor, there were a few children that done this yet my child was singled out because she was last child there. We are only a couple weeks starting the and my observations have not been great so far, different teacher every class and not yet anything taught. I am keeping an open mind though….. Seriously what is going on at Blantyre sports centre, Sunday probably one of the only days parents and workers have to enjoy a swim/ sauna and sure enough closed again due to staffing issues . Who is responsible for the rota system. I refer to a polite conversation I had with a senior manager and was informed that they were in the process of training new starts so if I can be patient these problems won’t be around much longer , this was months ago. I witnessed multiple parents returning to there vehicles with really upset kids. Sad thing this is becoming the norm. Due to these circumstances why don’t SLC pro rate the membership to reflect the lack of availability. I’m sure a trust which runs the facility would agree. Payment comes out my account with no adjustments???? They took a while to fix the treadmills around Christmas time. Today, only four are working and the rest are out of order. Not worth the gym membership especially if they are increasing the price. How long will it take this time to fix them this time. Really poor care for the facility and serious work is needed Only talking about the here, a bit old and lack of maintenance especially the shower but still does the job, staff are super nice. Usually packed Saturday because of lessons. Water is warm enough for my kid to stay in for 2 hours.
