The Casino itself is worth visiting even when you do not gamble, because its mediaval-like interiors are nicely blended with black-jack and roulette tables and other gambling "apparel". They also offer a private club, a restaurant, a bar and also a place for large events celebration outdoors. In the summer, this is also the place where the Peralada music festival takes place. I had the unfortunate experience (even though I had my Swiss ID card w/picture and my NIE, as I'm a resident of Spain). I must admit that I do not bring my passport with me everywhere I go, especially for an evening of opera. Lesson learned! Nothing for Swiss people with ID. We can enter the country with our ID but the casino doesn’t let us in without passport - bad service, we wont try to visit again.
