Attended for the 2019 EU Northumberland count, pleasant experience that surpassed other similar venues. Returning officer was excellent keeping us all informed personally in a very professional manner. Free self service coffee (needed some!) It has everything you could need in sports. Perfect soft play party for our Nephews 5th Birthday. friendly but you must stick to your allocated time as it's party after party An excellent sport centre with all needed facilities. Can’t use the gym as its being used as a poll station. I paid for a gym membership to use all year round. I did not receive any notice. Have always loved this centre, definitely the best around although with the new management I feel as though the area has become extremely dull and there just isn’t any light at all in there because they’ve covered up most of the windows. My main complaint though is that one member of who works at the front desk is so incredibly rude and condescending, I’m disabled and have a Places Leisure membership and a carer on my account too because of that, but during my latest visit the woman on reception thought it was okay to shout at me across the centre when I was going into the gym that my carer couldn’t use the machines with me, which I was already aware of but she had caused a significant amount of embarrassment and upset to me by making a scene of me in front of everyone else there and her tone was so rude towards myself and my carer, despite her being very bubbly towards everyone else there. I don’t want to return after this experience. Aquafit tonight with Joe was enjoyable and a good workout. The first time he’s used the dumbbells in his class and he did well keeping us working constantly for the full 45 minutes. closed. went in to go swimming at 2:30pm. payed for the swim and went into the changing rooms, i saw a sign saying shower before you swim so i did then went to go into the and was shouted at by that it was till 3pm. i went back to reception to THEN be told it was till 3. it had nothing on the website about it being nor was i told prior to paying or going into the changing rooms. decided it wasn’t worth waiting in a soaking wet swimming costume for 30 mins so i got changed then went to reception to ask for a refund which i was then refused because i took a shower. so unprofessional, don’t recommend. As a parent of an autistic child, Blyth Sport Centre is a perfect place for a weekend activity. There are swimming lessons for both children and adults. There is also a cafe where parents can get a coffee/tea while the kids are having fun in the soft play area. You can also get food and plenty off snacks. Would give 0 stars if possible. Went for a swim with my partner at 2 o’clock on a Thursday, was charged full price , went into the changing rooms and got changed went to the and rinsed ourselves with the shower as it tells you to then entered the room only to be shouted at by that the was and told it would open at 3pm which we didn’t have time to stay for so dried ourselves off and went to the front desk to get our money back only to be told that they wouldn’t refund our money and that the cold shower would’ve cost £11.80 for us to have. Completely unprofessional behaviour. Didn’t tell us before we payed that the was and that we’d have to wait an hour. Would’ve stopped this whole thing from happening as we would’ve just left as we had other things to do today. Complete scam! Will never be returning.
