We have been for a massage which included 1 hour in the pool 🏊🏽. We had a very time and got to relax ☺️ and enjoyed every second of it. The venue is very clean with friendly and welcoming staff. We’ll definitely go again. Loved it. Beautifully decorated. Nice short but well executed menu. Little quirky with the nail bars in sight of the actual drinks bar, but I love quirky. Minor complaint of the staff not being as attentive as they perhaps should despite it being very quiet while we were there. I had to go and ask for cutlery, I then had to go ask for the bill. But when we caught the staff's attention they were lovely. We had a pannini and a flatbread pizza. My pizza was more like a puff pastry than an actual flatbread, but still tasted good. My most challenging order of an Oat milk latte was particularly good... not many places do a nice one. This place did. A table near us had ordered the cream tea, looked lovely. Still a 5 star experience in what felt like lush but relaxed surroundings. Will go back. I had a family lunch with children and they were very accommodating. The retractable terrace roof is a nice touch to sit in the sun with a lively view of the garden and water feature. The staff were attentive and friendly without being interfering. The atmosphere was laid back and decor is contemporary and relaxing with different styles of dining experience. The food menu is varied and tasted amazing. The drinks selection was just as and not expensive. Would definitely go again. Great spa, great location and great team. Right on the River Eden, conveniently located moments from the centre of Carlisle but also in the most blissful setting of the countryside just through Rickerby Park and the idyllic village of Rickerby. Pool, treatments, bar and restaurant - what a fabulous haven. Was treated for my birthday today. We had a lovely time and my pedicure was lovely. I’ve been to several spa’s and you do expect a certain amount of luxury which just isn’t there I’m afraid. My daughter’s robe was damp when she got it and they weren’t quality. I know if I sent them to a charity shop they wouldn’t resell them. There was none of the little luxuries you expect. No creams etc to use when getting ready, a flushing toilet. They did have water but it was in a tiny paper cup. This may be due to health and safety but other spa’s give you glasses and fruit juice. We sat on the terrace and the amount of cobwebs was excessive. It all just felt like it should be cleaner. Like I said the treatment was but I expected it to be private and there were two seats together. My daughter had been told we couldn’t get pedicures together but I did manage to get one with another woman. There are many better options out there. First visit today. My husband and used the pool for an hour then had a Flatbread and drinks upstairs. Service was very friendly and relaxed, especially by Alex in the restaurant. Thank you. We plan on visiting again soon. The award-winning roof terrace bar at Rickerby Retreat Bar in Rickerby, Carlisle is a fabulous place to spend a few hours catching up with friends, drinking cocktails, sipping wine, and eating delicious food overlooking the lovely spa gardens, and Rickerby Park, through floor to ceiling windows. The family-run retreat is designed for relaxation - from the mood lights in the bar area to the natural lighting in the restaurant. We had a variation of cocktails to start. They all looked and tasted delicious. Then a bottle of wine to accompany the following snacks .. 🧆 - Sharing Nachos - with mozzarella, guacamole, salsa, jalapenos & sour cream 🍱 - Sharing Deli Board - Meats, cheese, chutneys, crackers, dips, fruit and veg sticks The service is and the atmosphere is relaxing (hardly surprising - it is a spa 😊). The only downside is they didn’t have any cream for a floaty coffee (first-world problems 🤪) Apart from that it was a perfect afternoon. Next time I’ll make it extra special, book a treatment & enjoy their leisure facilities. The products they use (ESPA) smelled wonderful. Wow what can I say the hot stone massage was amazing , I was asked at the beginning what did I want from the massage and it was for relaxation, and I wasn't expecting to be so relaxed , honest fantastic and will definitely be back but will add on the facial too next time .
