Lake District White Water Rafting

Yesterday we rafted the Eden Valley, the longest white run in the UK. Before I start my review I want to point out that we were 76 yrs, 70 yrs, 63 yrs and 60 yrs respectively. Moderately fit but with no experience whatsoever. It was absolutely brilliant. James was an amazing guide, put us all at ease and kept us all safe. He also had a great repertoire of jokes. At one stage, three of us got out of the raft and free flowed down one of the rapids - terrifying but brilliant. There were Grade 1, 2 and 3 rapids, with calm stretches for a break in between and we had a lovely hot chocolate and biscuits half way round. The trip ended with a Grade 4 rapid - a 3 metre drop, and once we'd gone down it, we went back in for the washing machine effect (several times) - thousands of litres of thundering over our heads. Big shout out to Simon, a fellow rafter, who had an unexpected dunking - you were brilliant. James, as I said at the time, I love you because I didn't drown. Absolutely fantastic day. James and Marley are incredible guides, kept us safe and definitely entertained throughout the day, We will definitely be back for another adventure. The instructor, Mark was brilliant – clear, friendly, and made sure we felt safe the whole way through. Our group was such a laugh (big shoutout to the girls & Mark!) which made it even more fun. The rapids were exciting without ever feeling too much, and we came away buzzing. Highly it if you want a mix of adventure, laughs, and a drenching 😂 we’ll definitely be back. This is a cool afternoon out through some amazing country. We did the north lakes one after a decent amount of rain and it was exciting enough through the rapids, and during the calmer water, guide James entertained us with his humour. Can We did the north lakes white rafting and had such an amazing time. Both the instructors were very knowledgeable and made sure to make our adventure fun and exciting. Would definitely this to anyone who wants an exciting day out. Excellent trip down the River Leven...south lakes for us! James was with us in our raft, keeping us safe and entertained throughout! The kids and adults loved it...thank you!! Would highly recommend! Went white rafting with my dad on the River Eden and had an amazing time! We were lucky enough to meet lovely people, including Mark (the instructor on our raft), who was friendly and did a fantastic job of making us all feel safe and welcome. He clearly spends a lot of time making sure he can offer the best individual raft experience possible, and represents the entire group wonderfully. The rapids were very entertaining, and were not too difficult for anyone, causing us to walk away anticipating the next adventure. I would definitely this to anyone looking for adventure, humour, and a good soaking! We will definitely be back Highly recommend... such a great experience. James was our raft guide.
