Thacka Lea Caravan Park

Penrith, United Kingdom RV park

One of the Best Places To Visits in Penrith Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Basic but adequate facilities, and tidy. Location good…Small tucked away but surprisingly noisy at night we felt…hum of industry/factories somewhere close by. Train line busy up until about 11pm and before 6am which woke me up as a light sleeper. Not particularly cheap so 50p for the one shower was a bit of much really…lacking in personality overall… I received a warm welcome at this compact campsite. All pitches are immaculately kept. £20 for non EHU & £25 for EHU. The sanitary block is & tidy. There are plenty toilets & basin, but only 1 shower for men (50p for 5 minutes) & one for women (50p for 7 minutes). There is grey waste, water fill up, Elsan Point, rubbish / recycling. There’s some lovely walks straight from the site, and the centre of Penrith is only 300m down the road. Free wifi is available across the and is a very decent speed. I’d highly recommend this site. Loved it. A great little, family-owned with toilets, showers, and washing-up area. Pitches have electric hook up point. All very and tidy. Owner is friendly and helpful (which isn't always the case in some places!) Site has a peaceful and relaxed vibe. There is some noise from the West Coast main line and the distant M6, but I never found it intrusive. Only 10-15 minutes walk into Penrith with its many amenities. Birders and nature lovers will enjoy Thacka Beck nature reserve which is yards away from the entrance. I'll definitely be coming back. Very site. Toilet block very no matter the time of day. Few minutes drive for supermarket and town centre. Lovely walks and lots of places close by to visit. Very good price. A little gem on the outskirts of Penrith, but close enough to easily walk into the town. Level pitches, facilities and Andrew was there to help and assist with any queries. Will definitely recommend and return. Great on the outskirts of Penrith but only 15 minute walk into town. Fairly basic facilities on but more than adequate. Very friendly host. Would definitely recommend. Second time staying here. Stayed for 3 nights. Good level pitches. Very and tidy facilities. Short 10min walk into Penrith centre. Nature reserve down the lane, lovely peaceful walk. Highly recommended, 5 🌟 We had booked another but when we got there it didn’t have the facilities we are used to having, so we left after cancelling with the wardens. We were on our way back (possibly home, if we didn’t find a site) we looked online and seen this (at this point my hubby had been driving 4 hours he was exhausted) we called and thankfully they had space. We were greeted as soon as we pulled in. Showed us to our pitch and helped us park up. We have been here 3 hours and it is one of the best sites we’ve been on. Quiet, peaceful and tranquil. We will certainly be coming back. We wish we’d known about this sooner. For us it’s better than the fancy sites we’ve been on which cost a small fortune.
