We booked a gold plus caravan. When we arrived the smell in the was horrendous. We would have left immediately but had arranged to meet family the following day . I used a plug in air freshener, carpet freshener and furniture deodoriser but nothing helped. The sofa's were stained , torn and smelly . The carpet was dirty and smelt disgusting. The double bedroom smelt like sweat. Various items left on the carpet and down the sofa's. We left on Wednesday morning instead of Friday. Can't believe this was a gold plus caravan. I know it was pet friendly but that is all we book as we have a dog and we have never arrived anywhere that smelt as bad as this . There was no deck which you would expect from a gold plus and nowhere to hang a coat or towel. I could go on but I won't. On Wednesday when I checked out the reception offered to look for a different caravan. This was pointless as everything including our bedding was now stinking and I couldn't wait to get home and get everything washed. Also if they had a better why didn't they give us it in the first place. Fantastic site in quiet location. was extremely clean and warm. All staff were very professional. Only negative is the cost & quality of food in the clubhouse, but wouldn’t put us off going again. Just stayed 4 nights at this site and had a lovely time. Location, accommodation and service from the park was fantastic. Great value for money stay. Shout out in particular to Zara and Chloe who entertained us each night in the clubhouse. They were absolutely fantastic and made our stay. Kept winning popping candy which was hilarious. They also sing live every other night and their voices are unreal. They even tackled songs by Whitney and Streisand which was brave to such a small audience and put contestants from the Voice to shame.Will definitely return. I've read reports of the place being unclean which is untrue. The place was immaculate both and grounds. A few niggles ( bathroom door didnt shut) in the but nothing to put me off returning. Massive well done Glendale and thank you. If you go remember to take towels, tea towels etc Lovely location on the Solway Firth - pretty central to locations like carlisle and silloth. Statics are well maintained. There is a bar which serves food, and entertainment some/most nights. Bingo every night if you're into that.
