A fantastic find on the main road between Wigton and Carlisle: a with a lovely and fairly extensive menu at very reasonable priced in delightful premises attached to a farm shop, also with a wide range of farm and local produce. The food was quickly and well served by friendly staff. The premises are all on one level with very accessible washroom facilities meaning the whole place is ideal for those with limited abilities. I came across this place while searching for a charger to charge my car. They have a bank of four Instavolt chargers, all of which are functional. While waiting for the car to charge up, we visited the cafe. The service was excellent, the portions were fantastic, and the mushroom soup of the day was delicious. The kid's cheese sandwich portion was incredibly generous, and the side of chips with skin was perfectly cooked. Whenever I am near Carlisle and need to charge my car, I will not hesitate to visit this place again! Excellent food with efficient service The complex at Orton Grange comprises a spotless farm - arrayed with specialty goods, local and luxury foodstuffs and drinks - including stunning meat and deli counters, fresh and frozen produce, and a cafe/restaurant. The cafe, which is spread over two floors, serves tasty breakfasts, brunches, and lunches, and is beautifully appointed with a mixture of tables and chairs, with cozy sofas for small groupings, and tasteful decor. Conveniently located at a roundabout on the A595 with it's own parking area - including a electric charger for eco cars. Staff were friendly and efficient, if a bit slow due to demand. We plan to return. The was very nice and served good food at a reasonable price. Staff are very helpful and friendly, were very willing to accommodate for a pram and newborn. The farmshop itself is also great and offers a medium range of items at prices you'd expect from local fresh produce. Baby changing facilities are available and are clean. Weelchair accessible with plenty of disabled parking spaces. It can be difficult to park at peak times. Numberplate must be registered if parking for more than three hours. Electric vehicle charging is also available. It's a nice spot to hangout with a good selection of produce , gift and cafe. Amble car parking as well. Expensive Went in for lunch with partner and child, clearly don’t like children in there, active 4 year old, not misbehaving or running around or causing problems, just being a typical 4 year old but getting death stares from a particular member of staff. Food was average at best for the ridiculous prices being charged. Sorry won’t be back! Can't Beat Orton Grange Store great staff always helpful same too. £3.50 for a can of Sprite!! Enough said. Busy place but worth the wait often in the car park waiting for a space but a really quick turn over, the is a very friendly place with amazing food, the gift has some lovely stuff, the food hall has plenty of choice plenty of fresh produce Service is exceedingly poor, with potential wait times of 10-15 when they're empty. The food is lacklustre for the cost (the sides are at least £7 for basic chips with cheese on) although the portions are decent. The atmosphere is pleasant and there's a good amount of room for each table. A regular place to visit for lunch for us. Food is incredible. Breakfast is nice especially before 1030 for free coffee. A bit pricy for pancakes £11.95 but nice thought. We chose here because of the fast electric charger. Bought Cumberland mango and chutney from the farm shop. I should’ve bought more as it is super good when I pan fry it at home. Wish I know better last few days I could then have it for breakfast. Fully recommend to buy more Cumberland sausage back home. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a while, terrific quality of items and all served piping hot Lovely staff and very pleasant atmosphere My partner and I had a fantastic breakfast here (11.12.2024). The staff were friendly and accommodating to an amendment to my order. If I lived closer I would be eating there every weekend. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely be eating here again.
