Some of the food was quite bland. I wouldn't recommend. Otherwise everything was great, the staff were friendly, great selection of drinks, very clean toilets and very clean restaurants. This pub has been here for a long time, but this re-incarnation as a pub and bar tops them all. The new owners have brightened up and extended the inside and made a nice job of bringing in a continental feeling to the dining areas. We visited for an evening meal (it is usually best to book a table) and were seated quickly and gave our order. The staff were very attentive and friendly and our order came out quickly. All the plates were fully of flavour and attractive. The helpings weren't anormous. A good thing as it's all to easy to over-order in a bar. And the prices were very reasonable. I think we'll be going back again and agin for such an enjoyable experience. What a fantastic place. Food is fantastic. So tasty and reasonably priced. Also helped us out with a lift to our Air BnB as we couldn't get a taxi. So welcoming and would definitely recommend 👌 Just recently visited we hadn't booked but they fitted us in lovely food and we will be back soon Amazing restaurant, we visited last weekend as we was staying on a nearby site, we was really happy to find out it was a restaurant and every bit of food was amazing and also dog friendly. We sat at the bar after food and had a nice chat with the owners who were really welcoming, we will definitely be returning in the future 😊 A fabulous choice of dishes from around the Mediterranean. You dont really expect a pub in the middle of Cumbria countryside to do - but they do and they do it well! Food and service were fantastic. The two of us ordered 5 plates, which is usually sufficient for us when we go to restaurants. On arrival the food had very small portion sizes and sat very low to the plate. (About 3 tbs of chicken & mushroom.) It was good, but it was one of those rare experiences where you leave a restaurant hungry. Also on viewing the menu prices , I’d assumed that vat was included, so I was unpleasantly surprised that this was added onto the bill. The gent at the next table expressed a similar view to ours on the portion sizes.
