This is a partially ruined with a small exhibition of interesting local history. The video gives context to the fight between Cathars and the French crown. Very reasonably priced. This is mostly in ruins, but is still fantastic and worth visiting. The signs and booklet provide a lot of good information, and there's small museum on site. The views are incredible. We were very glad we stopped by. Ruins (partially restored) of a with views of the valley. A small museum shows the history and more interesting the value of coinage. One gets a feel of what a day's labor was worth in medieval time showing the relative price of essential and luxury goods for various income levels. Park away from the near the main road and avoid entering the small streets. A midsize car barely can pass. Not for SUV. Nice ruins. Interesting stories of missing treasure. Interesting Catar ruin. We parked in village and walked down through the old streets. was interesting and is on multiple levels which could cause issues if you are less than 100% mobile. Great views over the valley. There was an interesting art exhibition when we were there. The walk back up was quite challenging but all in all worth the effort. Also visited the church at the entrance to the (only pics to hand) Amazing views! Good display and good value for money. Well worth the visit! Amazing place! Great hospitality! I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family Ruined high up in the mountains with amazing views down onto the plain of Carcassonne. There are some restored inside rooms dedicated to finds and the history of the castle. Really great little with a really interesting depth history and a fair amount to see. It's rather small so don't plan a whole day around it but an ideal way to spend an hour or two if you're in the area! Be aware: yes, these are ruins and also yes you need to pay 5 eur to enter. So we didn't go. The view of the from the village is gorgeous! Stunningly beautiful in a nice valley. If you are a birdwatcher, best keep an eye out there for vultures and other raptors! Poorly developed guide and directions. itself is not in great shape, so a lot of imagination is required.
