Such an excellent experience! Paula was a wonderful guide/host with good knowledge about the local area and a strong love for the horses! Experience level: We did the middle route (about 1-1.5 hours) and everyone has a fab time. We had a mix of in our group from a brand new rider to a current lesson taker and all levels were able to have a comfortable and exciting ride. Final rec: Highly this to all! A great way to see the natural park and one of the old leveda systems in one swoop! Super fun, professional, and safe to with, as a horse person who also does rides, these ones are so well trained, and it’s in small groups so you know this is a very responsible and safe business! The you can tell are happy and healthy and are well trained for the trails. Loved my (I did the 2h30/11km one) and definitely worth it even though it was super rainy. :) Paula gave us ponchos lol Also, I booked very last minute and Paula’s customer service was the best! Natalia was the best tour guide/riding companion I could have asked for! I joined her and 2 other riders for the Laurel Forest (advanced ride) and it was such a great experience. A happy mix of friendly conversation and quiet meditative moments in the beautiful forest made it feel like I was with a long-time friend. Beautiful surroundings and Paula is making sure you’re in a group adapted to your level. Highly recommended and we will be back next time we visit Madeira! By far the best I’ve ever had in every way. I did the 11km ride, the landscapes were magnificent and my guide Theresa was on top! She's so adorable, very professional, very reassuring and taught me more about the island of Madeira. The were also impeccable and extremely well behaved, as they are very happy and well-treated horses. They are free all together outside the whole time in a big green areas and are not locked in boxes like in most horse clubs. They are reassuring and calm horses. I was with Junior, who was a very gentle and calm horse. The are very easy to and manage, suitable for all levels of riding. I them 100% and I would come back! thank you again for everything :) We had such a great with Theresa! She was so knowledgeable about not just but the whole island itself. It was a smooth and pleasant throughout. I would definitely this if you are looking to on the island. As a novice had a lovely along the levadas with Paula as our guide. Gave us really clear instructions on what we needed to do to steer as the are bitless so a bit different to at home. Offered the chance to trot but respected our wish to stay walking (I'm a chicken). were lovely, gentle and well behaved as were the two dogs Paula took out on the with us. Highly recommend! Me (experienced rider) and my boyfriend (no experience) both had a wonderful time with Paula and the horses. When we arrived, they were already saddled up and good to go. Both the were very calm and trustworthy. Paula equipped us with the necessary gear and explained everything with great patience to my boyfriend so he would feel comfortable and at ease. During the trail, she informed us very well about what we could expect and how to handle the and horses. We took the 1h trip on Cedar’s trail. She also took a lot of pictures which was very nice to have afterwards. From start to finish, Paula was responsive & very professional, answering all my questions and accommodating all of our requests via email. I am an experienced rider, but the rest of my family had varying levels, and she adapted the to make it special for everyone (I got to extend the so I could canter in the forest!). The surroundings are incredibly beautiful, and Paula is extremely knowledgeable about horses, Madeira, and Portuguese history. The are lovingly cared for (a few are rescues), as are the dogs, which also come along for the :) You can tell Paula & team take a lot of pride in what they do. I rode for two and a half blissful hours on Junior, with whom I think I fell a bit in love. Such a gentleman, with a lovely gait and a sweet nature. We picked wild blueberries and blackberries, breathed in the scent of eucalyptus, rode through a curtain of orchid blooms and listened to the murmur of water trickling down the levada. At the end of the ride, Junior was untracked, but hung around for a back scratch and kisses. I couldn’t be happier with my ride. Thank you, Natalia and Beatrice for being such lovely guides.
