However we got a drink and it was tasty and staff was friendly... really nice music. I believe at later night, the place must be packed. Very interesting bar. From the time we walked into this bar we had a friendly welcome and enjoyed the atmosphere and music. The staff were amazing and would recommend the 23 Black cocktail which was invented there by the lovely young lady who served us! Will definitely revisit on return to Funchal. A lot of alcohol to choose from. I recommend Hinton spirit. Made be the fabulous Debora, and if you don't what you want, just ask the bartender for a recommendation. We had a mixture of their version of an espresso martini as well as brilliant mojito! Don't skip this place. place with a fantastic atmosphere. The choice of cocktails is really good with some real specialties, the "Black 23" is highly recommended, expertly made. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Debora who I would employ in an instance if I ran a barThe bar doesn't get going until after 12, with the DJ starting slightly earlier. The is 80/90's dance which appeals to most people. the bar looked like it had good vibes but was very disappointing. There was a man in a suit who was very inappropriate, and to be honest he was driving customers out. He “jokingly” asked me if I was a man or a woman - as an asian woman, it felt like less of a joke and more like a lazy racist stereotype. Killed the buzz. And this place was meant to be lgbtq+ safe environment, BE BETTER and jokes are meant to be funny! The cocktails here are fantastic – definitely a recommendation! BUT, and it’s a big BUT – the service is extremely slow. Like, painfully slow. If you don’t mind waiting a long time for drinks, you’ll enjoy it. Otherwise, be prepared to test your patience. It was empty when we went there and we didn't see many people when we were passing by during other evenings. But I don't know why, this bar definitely deserves more recognition! It has friendly bartenders, interesting decor, and - most of all - amazing drinks, some of them truly unique (that whisky sour with chili...). Yes, the prices aren't the lowest, but fair for what you get. We were just there, only customers and we asked for a nikita and a poncha which were on the menu and the girly bartender said to me: can I be honest? This is not the bar for you. We serve cocktails. Okay, we went somewhere else straight away because what the hell right?! Me and my friend are young, fine looking and we weren't accepted. Never happened before. No wonder the bar is dying, service sucks! Angele is an incredible bartender and has lovely hospitality! Love the atmosphere, and the is great. I would give 5 stars and be thrilled to come back if karaoke was available and they didn't serve a drink simply called Ronaldo. Small things like that just didn't feel genuine.
