We'd heard that the Poncha's here were a bit special so we had to give them a try. They were delicious and the guy that served us was really and chatted to us for a while. Day 2 of 10. We'll be back 😋🙂 We came back and this happened. Lush sandwiches 🥪🤤 A marvellous little bar in the middle of a very touristical area. The guy who runs the place is very enthusiastical about the - which are great, made with love. Amazing nikitas! Best customer I've had in Madeira. Really nice and chill vibes and prices are very affordable. An absolute must visit for everyone looking for a relaxing evening with and friends. Stopped at the Lido Tavern for a Poncha. Very , smooth. Really liked it. Decided to have a sandwich. Had the Prego on Bolo do caco. It's a very sandwich, but for me it was a bit strong on the garlic from the Bolo do Caco. I would definitely eat it again but have them tame down the garlic. Service is excellent. Very staff. Not a lot of seats. Seems to be a lot of regulars based on the conversation. Lido’s Tavern is a really nice place to stop by for a drink. The ponchas are freshly made and super tasty. The staff was very and attentive, which made us feel welcome. They also offer other and some local food like bolo do caco. Great for a relaxed evening with vibes. The here is so genuine and friendly! We asked for the grapefruit (which the staff warned us was not popular and we might not like), but as someone who loves grapefruit drinks, it was actually very fresh and tasty! We also ordered some fries and they were hot, crispy, and salty. 😋 The was so that we came back again the next day for the regular poncha. Highly recommend! First of all I want to say that the people here are amazing!!! Very friendly, supportive, chatty and helpful!!! The prices are very, very and the food is extremely tasty! Small family business which should be a lot more appreciated! The special sandwich is wow! Best in Madeira, and we had quite a lot of them! Two words; Honestly delicious. They are honest people. Not afraid of a conversation. Best special bolo de caco in the region. Steak is baked to perfection, so not dry but very juicy and fresh. They make the food by order. Nothing is made upfront and you can taste it. The is freshly made while you wait for it. Honest prices. It would be a shame not to go here. Don't be afraid, you won't need to eat for the rest of the night. Thank you so much for this experience! Superb little place for relaxing and having drinks. They do food, it looks and smells delicious but we've not eaten here. It's always very busy so they must be doing something right 😊. Been here several times over the years, for only, and they are always good. Only a very small seating area outside but its a perfect spot to sip away and watch the world go by. Two of the best people we have met on the island serving quality food and drinks. The most authentic we found and don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations from the host he is very knowledgeable and willing to help out. Prices are more than reasonable and the food is amazing. We went back almost every day of our holiday. Was so good!!! So simple food and tasted delicious!! If we ever came back to Madeira this will be a must again! The owners are super nice and welcoming. The is the best in city no doubt! The food is filling, tasty and amazing quality. I am very glad we found this place and come back every evening. I would give this spot 10 out of 5 if I could :) and pina colada were top notch! Steak sandwiches were also delicious! Great and atmosphere!
