Friendly staff and great facilities As a tourist, I am very pleased with the full Scottish golf experience I received here. A morning storm came in at the start of my tee time (8:04 AM), but they allowed me to get a 30-minute head start before the soaking commenced. It was one of the wettest and windiest nine holes of my life, and I enjoyed everything about it. From the tail winds that helped me add yards off the tee box, to the castle ruins on holes 4, 5, and 6, and that lucky bounce off a bunker rake that kicked my ball away from the sand. The staff was courteous and informative as I thanked them for the lent clubs and asked them about what kind of grass is used here (Answer: Rye). I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, where most courses have either fescue or Bermuda that plays differently, so it was nice to get that authentic feel as I hacked away. Sorry for the divots. I have an affinity for nine hole courses, and this place is one of the best I have played at. The countryside scenery was complimented by the well manicured course, which has a fun layout. I know that a score of 49 on nine is not at the PGA level, but given the extra challenges from mother nature, I'll take the memories of it gladly and hope to return someday for a redemption round. Course extremely rough. In dire need of course reinvestment. £15 for 9 holes where most municipals are nicer condition. Unfortunately been like this the last couple years. Great course for the price and a very good driving range with Toptracer. Food in the cafe was really good and reasonably priced. Staff were really friendly too. Will definitely be visiting again! Have used the driving range for years - for group lessons for my son while my husband and I enjoyed breakfast in the bistro. My son recently had his 12th birthday party- good value . They had the coaching bays which meant i didnt have to worry they would be too distruptive to other golfers. A member of golf team was with them giving tips on their swing and organised a team game. Food afterwards was provided by the bistro. Fantastic quality and happy to provide alternatives to someone with allergies.
