I recently completed the trail, starting from Milngavie and ending in Fort William, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The path we took, starting from Milngavie and ending in Fort William, was a seven-days experience, well-planned and provided us with a great mix of challenging hikes, stunning scenery, and comfortable accommodations. Overall, I would highly recommend the West Highland Way to anyone looking for a challenging but rewarding hiking adventure in the Scottish Highlands. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for years to come. Second time walking the WHW. Completed it last year and started it this year. The town of Milngavie did a great job at the of the walk. There are easily marked signs and a really nice metal progression chart. Great job Milngavie I highly recommend to the West Highland Way. I did it with tent and kitchen, and that could be a tough one and adventurous on the stages from Conic Hill to Beinglas campsite. You may consider to book a transport service for your gear and with a lighter backpack. Be prepared for jaw dropping landscapes. We cycled the origional route which did not include any of the easier diversions. Great route but you do need an high level of fitness and Stamina. Be prepared to carry your bike for many miles and it over the toughest terrain you could ever imagine. The of the famed West Highland Way. There’s a coffee shop present, good coffee, the last public restrooms for quite some time (if you are doing the hike), and a place to fill up your camelbacks or water bottles. And then pain like I’ve never felt before, burning, pins and needles, swollen etc. Wear gloves and cover your skin! I was disappointed it ruined my and I had to stop but for what i did see.. so beautiful, I’m so heartbroken 💔 I couldn’t finish!! Get compeed (duoderm) and cover those feet!! The woman in the oak tree village shop called it, said it was likely the hogsweed, called the dr in Drymen and was so helpful.
