And now the story . . . . . We had hoped to hire a car from Delrue Rent (associated with Carrefour at Diskmuide), but we found them to be the most unhelpful and unfriendly company, and they eventually told us that they only hire cars to people who live in Belgium! So we visited the Diksmuide Tourist Centre to find out about hiring a car locally for 2 days. The lady there was so helpful and put us in touch with Garage Voet (the local Opel car dealer). The service at Garage Voet was very friendly and helpful. We hired an Opel station wagon for two days at Euro 39/day (including insurance), which enabled us to visit Ieper, Poperinge and other local historical sites, and we were very happy with the service. We are very happy to recommend Toursime Diksmuide and Garage Voet. We suggest you avoid Delrue Rent if you are a tourist !! Sehr nette Mitarbeiter.
