A 17th century residence (not really a castle) that is free to enter and wander about the interior courtyard. There are guided tours of the building itself (only in Slovenian), but there is no set schedule. The interior is gorgeous, which is why it is so popular for weddings and other ceremonies, thus the hours are not that great for viewing (10-12 on Saturdays). There might be a door open which will allow you to walk about inside the residence. The furniture is retro cca 1950-1960's. For how the inside courtyard is, the outside fasade could use some renovations. Škoda, da je odprto samo v nedeljo If you are trekking a loooong almost forgetton trail around Boč, it will lead you pass the Štatenberg mansion. Lots of times people say "castle Štatenberg", which is wrong. There really is another in the hills high above Makole, that really was the original castle, but most people haven't even heard of it. Now there are only a couple of ruins, hardly recognized. It was built in the 13th century, but in the 17th century it's owners decided to move lower in the valley closer to places of power and they built this mansion. The insides are also very nice, so i recommend a tour through a castle, which is also a museum and serves as offices of tourist bureau. There is also an restaurant and a wine cellar of Makole Winery Association. There is no mansion park, but there are some ponds north of it. If you want to see more of the similar near by, visit the Studenice monastery. If you are adventurous, you can walk a whole trail around Boč - Po vinskih goricah na Boč - Through vineyards on Boč and back again, but inform yourself first, because partially it is sparsely marked. Near a part of the trail there is a karst cave "Jama Belojača" / "Belojača cave". Boč mountain and it's close surroundings have some karst characteristics. Amazing place, you should definitely visit. keeper is such a nice host that will gave you a great tour and tell you story about castle. While you wait for a tour you can have a drink or coffee in cafe in the castle. This place is awesome, nestled between some amazing hills and a landscape in the cleanest nature ever. The inside of the is super well-organized, with lots of cool green spaces. The facility also includes a small chapel suitable for ceremonial weddings with a limited guest capacity. with deep history u can eat there drink good wine and getting married:) Great place to have wedding. They organize weddings here. A fairytale experience at this historic castle! My team recently rented Štatenberg for a video production and were blown away by this magical place. The is filled with authentic antique furnishings, tapestries, and decor that made us feel like we had stepped into a storybook. There were so many beautifully preserved rooms, corridors and courtyards to use for filming. The location itself is stunning, set on a hilltop with panoramic views of the countryside. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the entire booking and filming process. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make our project a success. If you're looking for a unique, memorable venue for an event, I highly recommend the enchanting Štatenberg! This historic gem gave us an experience we will never forget. The is very nice inside (the museum), but would need a new coat of paint on the outside. Very nice inner garden! And a nice wine cellar with a very friendly barman! One of the most wedding venues in Slovenia. Fantastic place, worth a visit! We enjoyed our afternoon there very much. Wine cellar is and their prices are symbolic.
