Excellent place & a superb varied menu catering for all tastes including children This is my third visit here, including one as a wedding guest. Brilliant place definitely recommended if you appreciate food and at reasonable price's. We will definitely be back, despite the fact that it's over 150 miles away from where we live! Fab place with great food. Locals were so and helped to make a great stay! Rooms were and clean. Pub side is great. It's a busy place so don't expect quiet. Prices are very ok and teriyaki chicken I had was one of best I ever had. Parking may be an issue as really busy at times. Unfortunately if you plan to stay to sleep I wouldn't recommend as despite being a nice addition in standard for cheap money it has two major flaws that were a deal-breaker. Roof is very flat and not insulated enough when raining, you hear every drop and not in a calming way. Feels like it's flooding all the time. Secondary - too close to pub part and you will not stop listening clearly to noise until 4am. No sleep at all, unless you use some stoppers, and then only maybe. I have had second to last room and it was as if I was inside a pub all night. Had meals in the conservatory, spacious area. The meals were all well cooked and very large portions, was great, cannot fault it and highly recommended. Will be going again. I didn’t stay overnight, my friend & I had lunch here with our dogs. They are very dog in the bar. Great service! & delicious food! At prices too! Fantastic little traditional pub/BnB in the countryside. Great food, really portion sizes for the prices. We ordered from the specials menu, dad his usual Hunters Chicken he said it was delicious and I had Caribbean Chicken Curry it was everything I had hoped it was after reading the menu. Fruity and slightly spicy, big chunks of chicken. I was asked if I wanted rice, chips or half and half. I went half and half. The portion sizes for both meals were excellent and price wise very reasonable for the amount of food you got. We visit a couple of times a year, the food is always excellent, had fish and chips today, delicious, and massive portions Haven't visited for many years when it was under different ownership, and hadn't been back since as the wasn't good. Went with a friend today and the food was tasty and great value. The was also really as well so I'll definitely be back again soon. This place was recommended by a friend so we thought we'd try it. Well we certainly were not disappointed, the food was amazing. If you don't have a big appetite this place is not for you. The portions are huge and chips were probably the best I've had. I will definitely return here, even if it's half an hour drive as it was definitely worth the drive. For 2 soft drinks, 2 mains and 2 desserts it was £48 and worth every penny. Brilliant as well, the young girls were very busy but certainly very attentive and friendly. Only down fall I would say was the conservatory where we were seated was a bit loud as big groups around us but that didn't spoil our evening. I just found it hard to have a conversation. Though I would advise booking as this little place gets busy. Will definitely be returning very soon. We have eaten here on two occasions. The food and was excellent both times. Good choice of food at a reasonable price and a generous portion too. Only went to dine.. Went for the first time today after a couple of people recommended it to me. Well all I can say was everything was excellent, the service, the food, the cost and the wait time. The food was amazing, the chips were proper chips, everything was fresh. The meat was quality and flavour was second to none. This is certainly a gem and will be back again in the future. Great food and potion sizes and plenty of options. Quick and staff. Stayed here a few times and I have absolutely nothing negative to say, the rooms were perfect, the food was incredible (very prices also) and all the members of staff were lovely. They will happily stand there and have a conversation with you and keep you entertained( especially Megan😂) overall was a stay and can’t wait to come back!!
