They have a beautiful garden to sit in outdoors or a nice indoor table and bar area. This is a family owned gem! While enjoying the beer, order the Dakos, dolmadakia, or the spicy cheese dip. Very responsive service. If you're British, and you love and food, this is the place for you. If you're after Carling Black Label or similar substitutes, it isn't. A great range of from Heraklion itself, wider Crete, and mainland Greece, with knowledgeable who you can chat with about what sort of you're looking for and what you'll enjoy. Not only is the good, but you can pop over the road to the little park where they'll bring you a menu (and more beer) and serve you some really good, food. Since we had children with us, we arrived early and were happy to see online (Google, Facebook, etc.) that the bar should open at 11 AM. Unfortunately, just like the first time, the seemed overwhelmed by early guests. On this occasion, we were asked to wait for 15 minutes, while the focus seemed to be on sweeping leaves and cleaning tables instead of offering us something to drink. Even after asking several times, we were told again to wait and that the bar only opens at 11:30 AM – although this information is not listed anywhere. I have already suggested a correction on Google. When we tried to give some feedback (for example, that paying guests should be served first), it was dismissed with: “That’s not how I work.” Sadly, we decided to leave, and this was probably our last visit. It is a pity, because the place has great potential, but here the guest is clearly not treated as a priority. Because of our first, much better experience, we still give 2 stars. We walked by this place on our way to our hotel and it was the first time I’ve seen a speciality location in Greece. We’ve made sure to try every national beer, but we’re excited to try some crafts. I ended up getting a flight and my boyfriend got two other on the menu. We got some small plates as well as we weren’t extremely hungry and it was the perfect place to try some Cretan food. Our server Eva was also fantastic! Popped in and enjoyed a couple of lagers (and received a small bowl of popcorn as well). Lovely place, would recommend. Cash payment preferred. It was obviously a quiet night and we may have tried the food after reading previous reviews, however the was seriously lacking. I know the bar work long hours so may have been due to this. This is a wonderful family owned establishment. The music was banger after banger. Both bartenders husband and wife were extremely friendly and kind. Found this lovely, colourfully decorated, and well run pub during a week's stay in Heraklion. I can thoroughly recommend the Koulouki IPA, 6.5%, on tap and very smooth. Many other real ale choices were also available in bottles and friendly and knowledgeable were happy to discuss these with us.
