I had the pleasure of attending the Crete Comic Con with a dear friend from the area. The venue was absolutely wonderful for the event, and its central location made it so convenient—just a lovely 15-minute stroll from my hotel. I truly enjoyed my time there; it was such a delightful experience! Interesting place, good view, good vibe The place is OK. The seats are not made for tall people though. Some of the least comfortable seats I've ever sat on. I don't know if the audio and visual support was from the venue but that was not the smoothest of all time. Finally the toilets are horrendous. You can't lock your stall, you can't hang your jacket or backpack. The toilet seat is so far down that you can hardly stand up again. Not a fan. It's not ready yet, but I hope that it will be soon. It's a pretty big place and I imagine that it will be useful to the community of Heraklion. My review is based on an auditorium on the second floor. I went to an opera here, which was excellent. However for the Centre, although a lovely looking place and large reception areas, I give the Centre 2 stars because the seating is very very narrow so basically leg room is inadequate.(Maybe this is reflected in the price of tickets?) Your knees physically touch the back of the seating in front of you. There is a board that is behind each row, so your knees touch a hard board. You have to either open your legs out (knees touching the board in front) or twist your body to the side to create any form of leg space. Sadly what a poorly thought out arrangement. Just a small point if you ever go there, once you get into the auditorium, the stairs are very steep going to the seats(I had no problem with this). Also the underground car parking wasn't well thought out either, as it was pretty chaotic. The signs are not so clear to leave the car park, so cars were reversing and doing three point turns all over the place. Also cars were stopping on the way up, so having to do 'hill starts', on a multistorey car park was no fun. Keep your windows up, if you don't want to smell car fumes. We were on level -2 so we had to go up to exit the car park. If it wasn't for these two things I would have given the Cultural Conference Centre five stars because the place is very clean and tidy and in excellent condition and the staff were very nice. So I am sorry to give only two stars amd don't like to complain but I am being totally honest. Excellent place, located next to the Venetian walls of Heraklion. Modern and traditional architectural design, plenty of concert halls with excellent acoustic and fully equipped. A perfect place for concerts anc theatrical performances. A new building made by combining new and old aspects of architecture. From the outside it looks very industrial but inside it has you can't mistake it for something other than a culture center. The hall is beautiful and has great acoustics along with a very well constructed stage. The backstage however impressed me the most. They are very well maintained and there is enough space to fit an orchestra with no issues. State of the art Congress venue Main hall has no leg space at all, amazing! Very few 🚻 for the number of guests entertained. Was here for a scientific conference. Very modern building, clean and tidy. A bit weird organization of rooms and facilities. The exterior has the appearance of a prison, still under construction and with a great deal of wasted space. The conference rooms are however beautifully finished and well set up but far too small for purpose. There should be a much larger room available. The open area where they give lunch, at hot weather they can put a few long-stand fans to make a bit of wind, that helps a lot, but they only put some sheds above head which acted as green house effect, heat being trapped below them and when you're sitting below them to have food, even though the sun light is not on you, the heat trap makes you sweat hard and have an uncomfortable time while having lunch, the solution is to use a few fans to move air. The toilets didn't have leads. You could see two holes where the seat's lead were connected, but the leads themselves were not there. It is an easy and fast repair and not costly, so I would recommend them to fix it. Hygiene is important, I don't know how the locals look at it, but an international guest would not take it positively. Ειναι κριμα να αποκαλειται πολιτιστικο κεντρο ενας χωροςαυτο το εκτρωμα!Τσιμεντενιος ογκος σε μια παραδοσιακη γειτονια με extra στολθδι μια σιδερενια αερογεφυρα που δεν γνωριζω τι εξυπηρετει.Ισως θα ταιριαζε αισθητικα σε καποθα οεριοχη του Λονδινου η αλλης βορειας πολης,οχι,ομως,στο Ηρακλειο.Οσον αφορα το καλλιτεχνικο προγραμμα εχει αρκετα ενδιαφερουσες εκδηλωσεις σε μια πολη που δυστυχως διψαει για πολιτισμο,ομως,δυστυχως,ο σχεδιασμος των αιθουσων,ειδικα της κεντρικης,ειναι απαραδεκτος:μικρα καθισματα με στενοτητα χωρου για νορμαλ ενηλικες με αποτελεσμα να στερουμαστε εκδηλωσεις.Δεν θα δωσω 20 και 30 € για να φυγω δυσαρεστημενη και εκνευρισμενη !Κριμα!!! Very good and structured place, I attended to the 2024 ORCA conference and it was amazing Απαράδεκτο το ποσό μικρό χώρο έχουν αφήσει για τα ποδια, τα γόνατα ακουμπάνε στη μπροστινή καρέκλα ενώ κάθεσαι μαζεμένα... αν έχεις θέμα με τα γόνατα ή το ισχιο σου ή κατάσταση είναι κόλαση. Seats are only suitable for Children. I would like to meet the "clever" designer. Real torture. Οποίος έχει υψοφοβία, κλειστοφοβία και γενικά κάποια φοβία να μην καθίσει στον εξώστη. Απαράδεκτος ο χώρος του εξώστη με πολύ στενές θέσεις και απότομη κλίση. Κρίμα γιατί ο ισόγειος χώρος είναι μια χαρά! Κλείσαμε εισιτήρια στον εξώστη γιατί δεν βρήκαμε κάτω. Ας μη κάνει και άλλος το ίδιο λάθος!! Έδωσα 25€ για να μείνω σφηνωμένος 2,5 ώρες. (1,82 ύψος) Πολύ έξυπνη η χωροθέτηση των καθισμάτων, συγχαρητήρια! 🤬 Φτιάξτε τις θέσεις , είναι ντροπή να φεύγουν άνθρωποι επειδή δεν χωράνε να κάτσουν .
