On several spots it’s visible that the siding is falling which poses a risk for both pedestrians and parked vehicles. After Spaladium arena is closed this is only larger concert hall in the Split. I would say that it was huge mistake to build Spaladium in the way it was done without rest of the complex as we were not able to organize enough events to make it profitable. After all, it was rathe political decision to build large multipurpose halls in many cities for some handball championship I think without proper analysis is it financially viable as it is now evident. It was much better to renovate Gripe as it was really urgently needed. Now we have closed Spaladium and barely functioning Gripe multipurpose complex which is worst scenario imaginable. And Gripe complex was also built for famous sport event ... 1979 Mediterranean games when Split got so many important buildings ... unfortunately it was also primarily political project to show that Yugoslavia was able to organize events like that and I am certain that it was also huge financial loss so we are consistent in doing stupid things. Hall Gripe is truly a fantastic place to come.You can go here to watch games,music concert and so on.Went with my father to watch the KK Split (basketball team from Split) which we enjoyed and liked.Prices were cheap and it is easy to get informations. Went here to see an ABBA tribute band and it was absolutely fantastic! The hall is massive, but entrance doors and finding the right hall is a bit confusing. A beautiful space for sports and various exhibitions. It's a shame that such a rich city like Split can't invest a little money in renovating this space. Old city sports hall. And who would have guessed that the seats would be ordinary chairs placed below the main stands, almost on the same level with the stage. The entire concert, nothing was visible, since a shaggy woman was sitting in front. The organizers don’t even know how to arrange the chairs correctly so that the audience can watch the concert comfortably! The evening is completely ruined! Money wasted! And the tickets were not the cheapest! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!! The place where Dire Straits started their Brothers in Arms world tour in 1985.
